All Creatures Great and Small Season 7: Premiere details, surprise rival vet, plotline and more

If you have been waiting for updates on All Creatures Great and Small Season 7, you have some good news, as the release date of the season has finally been announced. The series is heading back to the Yorkshire Dales this coming January, giving fans a little more exciting start to the new year.

Season 7 will follow a similar release pattern to Season 6, which premiered earlier this year in January. Additionally, the network has also shared the first-look images, the unexpected competition, and casting details, giving us even more to look forward to.

When is All Creatures Great and Small Season 7 releasing?

All Creatures Great and Small Season 7 is scheduled to premiere on January 17 on PBS. The episodes will be released at 9/8c. Interested viewers can stream the episodes on PBS Masterpiece on Prime Video and the PBS app.

The season is expected to have seven episodes in total, following the same format as the previous seasons. Additionally, as reported by PBS, it will also have a Christmas Special directed by Andy Hay. The season is being produced by Yvonne Francas, famous for Scott & Bailey, The Syndicate, and Our Girl.

All Creatures Great and Small Season 7 first look and plot

All Creatures Great and Small Season 7 takes viewers almost eight years back to the Yorkshire Dales in 1946, after the war has ended and things are getting back to normal. As per the description released by PBS, the new season gives Skeldale House a chance to enjoy life once again after the difficult war days.

Viewers will see James having more to explore in his work as a vet. However, his journey won't be so easy, as he has to deal with another vet who will come to the town. At the same time, the people of Darrowby will continue with their everyday lives.

PBS has also released the first-look images for All Creatures Great and Small Season 7, which show Helen, James, Tristan, Siegfried, Mrs Hall, and other characters back in the Yorkshire Dales. The images also show the family enjoying their time together.

The cast of Season 7 includes:

Interestingly, Season 7 will also bring a new face to the Yorkshire Dales in the character of a surprise rival who will be giving James some serious competition. The surprise rival vet will be played by Caolan McCarthy, famous for Belfast and Art of Invisible. In the upcoming season, he will play the role of Granville Bennett.

As reported by PBS, the upcoming Season 7 was renewed alongside Season 8 in November 2025, giving the series a confirmed future beyond the upcoming season.
