All of Us Are Dead Season 2 update finally answers a major question but leaves out one big thing

While All of Us Are Dead Season 2 was confirmed to be in the works in 2022, no new teaser or promotional media has been released about the upcoming season. Now, at the Netflix Korea 10th Anniversary, a few cast members of the show appeared on stage and revealed big news about the character Lee Cheong-san.

However, the release date for All of Us Are Dead Season 2 was not confirmed at the event or via social media, still keeping fans wondering when the show will return.

All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Cheong-san’s fate at the Netflix Korea 10th Anniversary

At the Netflix Korea 10th Anniversary, All of Us Are Dead's cast members, Park Ji-hu, Yoon Chan-young, Cho Yi-hyun, and Lomon, who play Nam On-jo, Lee Cheong-san, Choi Nam-ra, and Lee Su-hyeok, respectively, appeared on stage. As they revealed, Lee Cheong-san is alive in All of Us Are Dead Season 2.

At the end of Season 1, Lee Cheong-san's fate was left uncertain. After being bitten by his nemesis Yoon Gwi-nam, Cheong-san used Gwi-nam's body as a shield to protect himself from the military's bombing of Hyosan High School, and they both fell down an elevator shaft into the fire.

His body wasn't recovered, and while it initially seemed that he had died in the blast, the show didn't confirm if he was alive or not. Many fans and viewers speculated that Cheong-san could have survived and transformed into a "hambie" (a half-human, half-zombie variant with healing abilities).

Now, Yoon Chan-young, who plays Cheong-san, has revealed that his character is alive in All of Us Are Dead Season 2. What's on Netflix reported the translated version of what Chan-young said. According to the outlet, the actor said:

“Everyone, do you remember Cheong-san? You may have thought I was dead, but I, Cheong-san, am still alive."

Park Ji-hu, who plays Nam On-jo in the show, added:

“Cheong-san, you were alive. I was really worried you wouldn’t return, since you disappeared last season leaving so many questions unanswered."

Chan-young replied:

“I missed you, On-jo.”

The show has thus confirmed that Lee Cheong-san is alive, and we'll see him again in the new season. However, the show has not yet revealed the release date for Season 2. Since the first season came out in 2022, fans have been waiting for Season 2 eagerly and were hoping that a release date or teaser would be unveiled at the Netflix Korea 10th Anniversary.

However, all that was said about All of Us Are Dead Season 2's release date is:

“coming soon, only on Netflix.”

The cast also talked briefly about what All of Us Are Dead Season 2 will entail, saying:

“This season, we follow the stories of our friends who have grown into impressive college students and adults, and witness a larger-scale, more intense battle against zombies in the new setting of Seoul.”

While fans are happy to know that Lee Cheong-san is alive, there is some dissatisfaction regarding continued silence on Season 2's release date.

Besides returning cast members, All of Us Are Dead Season 2 will star a few new cast members. They are Lee Min-jae as Yong Ma-ru, Kim Si-eun as So Ju-ran, Roh Jae-won as Han Du-seok (an NIS team leader), and Yoon Ga-i as Lee Jong-a.

All of Us Are Dead Season 2 is expected to be released on Netflix in 2027, but a specific release date is yet to be revealed.
