The Norse ensemble of God of War is expanding and a fresh new update gives fans reason to be excited. The video game adaptation slate of Prime Video will be further highlighted by newly cast Jeff Gulka, who will play Sindri.

He is one half of the franchise’s most popular and complex sibling duo. Those who played the game know Sindri as an important supporting force. He is not merely a comic relief or a valuable weaponsmith.

Beyond just the utility, he represents guilt and sorrow. He stands for the long-term consequences of creation in a world that is created by powerful Gods. These Gods treat characters as disposable collateral.

The thematic weight of his character was signifcant and this is why casting matters for the adaptation. The upcoming television adaptation will bring to the screen the character from two games: God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök.

Within the God of War lore, the dwarven blacksmith is not defined by brute strength. He is a character with flaws: he gets neurotic and deeply anxious at times. He is weirdly and intensely germophobic and these traits contour his arc in trauma rather than eccentricity.

Apart from Hurst and Gulka, Danny Woodburn will appear as Brok. Brok is a brash character with an unfiltered demeanor. He stands in opposition to Sindri, who is eccentric yet grounded.

Sindri and Brok will appear alongside a cast that includes Ryan Hurst as Kratos, Max Parker as Heimdall, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, and Mandy Patinkin as Odin.

Newly announced casting brings popular industry names like Alastair Duncan as Mimir. He is reprising his role from the games, where Mimir served as Odin’s advisor before being imprisoned, and then he sought atonement for his activities.

Duncan and Hurst both bring game continuity to the series, with Hurst previously voicing Thor rather than Kratos.

The series follows Kratos and his young son Atreus as they set out on a journey connected to the ashes of Faye. Ronald D. Moore serves as writer, showrunner, and executive producer, with the project receiving a two-season order and entering pre-production in Vancouver.

The first two episodes are directed by Frederick E.O. Toye, with Tall Ship Productions producing alongside PlayStation Productions, Sony Pictures Television, and Amazon MGM Studios.

Jeff Gulka is a veteran television actor best known for roles on The X-Files and Stargate SG-1, with recent appearances in Van Helsing, The Magicians, and The Irrational.
