Andy Cohen reveals that Lisa Vanderpump refused to return for The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip

Lisa Vanderpump is notably one of the most famous and successful members of The Real Housewives franchise. She initially became popular when she started as a main cast member on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills from 2010 to 2019. Since then, she has hosted her own shows like Vanderpump Villa, and Real Housewives spinoff, Vanderpump Rules, among others.

In a recent conversation with Entertainment Tonight, Andy Cohen, host of most of The Real Housewives shows, said that the franchise wanted Lisa Vanderpump to return for The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, but she refused.

Why did Lisa Vanderpump refuse to return for The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip?

Lisa Vanderpump was already a successful restaurateur when she began her journey in reality television. Vanderpump was loved as a cast member on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills because of her glamorous lifestyle, wit, and British accent. Fans found her to be an exciting cast member to watch, which made her extremely successful.

That success led to her getting her own show, Vanderpump Rules, which is the first spinoff of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The show started in 2013 and is still ongoing. Lisa Vanderpump now also hosts Vanderpump Villa. It is thus safe to say that Vanderpump has made a career in reality television after her breakout appearance on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Ahead of the premiere of The Real Housewives of New York City Season 16, Andy Cohen sat down with Entertainment Tonight for a Sip or Spill segment. He was asked which housewife the franchise wanted to bring back, but she refused. In response, Cohen said:

"Um, well, we wanted Vanderpump to come back for Ultimate Girls Trip just to make an appearance and she said no."

Thus, Lisa Vanderpump was asked to return to the franchise for a guest appearance on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, but she refused. When asked if he knows why Vanderpump refused, Cohen humorously said:

"I think because she can't stand Kyle and Dorit. Yep. But that's just me guessing."

The answer Cohen gave seemed to be a joke since he was laughing as he said it. But there might be some weight to it. Lisa Vanderpump had a fallout with Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley. In the period between 2018 to 2019, during The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 9, Dorit had adopted a puppy from Vanderpump's rescue shelter. A while later, she gave the dog away to another home instead of giving it back to Vanderpump's shelter as had been agreed upon.

An infamous piece of news about Dorit was soon going through the rounds on the internet, and everyone thought Vanderpump leaked fake news to take a sort of 'revenge' on Dorit. Vanderpump has denied the allegations. Thus, the two aren't exactly friends anymore.

Kyle, on the other hand, had a fallout with Vanderpump when she went to her house to confront her about Dorit's news leak. Vanderpump was extremely upset that such a close friend of hers did not believe her innocence and asked Kyle to leave her house. Lisa Vanderpump also left the show after Season 9 and hasn't returned since then.

Thus, Vanderpump might have refused to return to The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip because of her fallout with Kyle and Dorit or because of how her last season on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills ended. The other reason could also be that she is simply busy with her other shows and ventures. Andy Cohen hasn't given an official reason as to why Lisa Vanderpump refused to return, and neither has she.
