Prime Video's new comedy series Bait keeps the tension alive with its second episode, as Shah Latif (Riz Ahmed) has big shoes to fill. Social media is abuzz with the new rumors of our British Pakistani hero stepping up in the iconic role and peer pressure on the former is already mounting.

Amidst all the tumult, Shah makes an appearance on the podcast of Sir Patrick Stewart, where his credibility as the next Bond gets questioned. However, he is hell-bent on getting the part and is confident enough that he is the right pick. As the auspicious occasion of Eid brings Shah back with his family, the Latifs struggle to amp up security at their house after the recent incident of vandalism.

While the family drama goes on, Shah preps well for his King’s Museum Gala event as the next Bond contender but he has strong competition from another candidate. Moreover, things do not go as planned at the Gala and Shah lands himself in a whole new online controversy.

As seen at the end of Bait Episode 2, some local goons vandalize the Latifs' house with a severed pig's head as a sign of threat. It all culminates following their son Shah's James Bond rumors and the backlash keeps pouring in.

So, none of the family members is ready to take any risks and everyone individually takes up the responsibility of securing the apartment right before the festival. With all of them pouring in their ideas, the Latif house ends up in a state of absolute chaos but Shah relies upon no one except a guy named Nigel Murray, whom his agent Felicia suggested to take help from.

On the other hand, the Latifs' close and apparently annoying neighbor, Naila tries to steal the spotlight by citing security concerns at the formers' place. However, Shah Latif's mother Tahira is not at all happy about the Eid celebration being shifted to Naila's house. Keep reading for the full recap of Bait Episode 2.

Shah arrives at the Gala with Zulfi as his security in Bait Episode 2

As we see in Bait Episode 2, Shah had initially planned to take Nigel with him to the Gala as his security. However, when Zulfi gets to know about this, he gets upset about the whole thing.

Bait Episode 2 reveals flashbacks from Shah's teenage days where we see another boy saving him from getting beaten up by bullies at school. It was no one but Zulfi himself and Shah's cousin, who turned brother, reminding him how he has always had his back.

After the bittersweet exchange between the siblings, Shah decides to take Zulfi with him to the King's Museum Gala presenting him as his security personnel. As Zulfi rides with Shah on his premium segment Muba cab stuffed with fancy snacks, the latter gets worried about the recent rumor of famous actor Raj Thakker competing for the James Bond spot.

Sir Patrick Stewart's podcast

While all of this is going on, Shah Latif is seen answering questions at Sir Patrick Stewart's podcast about his recent Bond rumors. It is at this point that Shah reveals his plans of stealing the gala spotlight with a big speech to address all the online hate he has been receiving for a while now.

He also gets defensive when Stewart tags Raj as a major rival to Shah and as comparisons rise, the former is portrayed a star who has a lot more success than our underconfident protagonist. With his fans and the people around him continuously putting pressure on Shah about the Bond role, he finally loses his calm. It is eventually revealed that he had been talking to the severed pig's head all this while imagining it to be some sort of podcast to vent out his frustration.

Another online controversy awaits Shah Latif in Bait Episode 2

Bait Episode 2 offers Shah a big platform to prove himself but it only invites more trouble for him. As Shah makes an appearance at the Gala, we witness protestors gathered outside the building demanding decolonization of the King's Museum.

Amongst one of the many is a guy named who is apparently a big fan of Shah - but not the actor, the rapper! However, Shah acts weird when Sid calls him out thereby ignoring him and going inside, despite Zulfi's warning message.

Though Shah and Zulfi initially feel like fish out of the water at the Gala, they decide to go in with full confidence. Shah needs to figure out a way to get on stage and deliver his speech about representation in the film industry.

He gets to know that the only way to do it is through the museum director, a woman named Vivian Newhouse. While Shah sneakily pulls her aside to explain to her why he must address the house and calm down the agitators outside, Vivian shuts him down by saying that it is not required as she is herself a bit Indian. Moreover, as seen in Bait Episode 2, Shah's contender Raj Thakker has already been lined up for the same.

Shah feels helpless at this point and after having exchanged intense looks with Raj, decides to persuade his rival to get him on stage with him. Shah even mentions the whole severed pig's head incident and all the online hate that he has been getting lately.

Raj, who apparently is a sweet person, is actually quite evil as he completely steals the show with Shah's story. And once he is done, he asks the later to come up on stage but by that time, our protagonist had nothing left to say.

He stutters while speaking on stage and ends up mentioning the same pig's head incident leaving the audience mocking him. On the other hand Zulfi was not happy when Shah introduced him to people as his bodyguard and goes on around spreading the word of his cab business.

While Shah stands on stage struggling to give a speech, one of the security persons comes up to him and whispers, saying that Zulfi has to be escorted outside because of racial talks. In a dramatic turn of events, Shah turns his back on his cousin who is then pulled out of the museum by the security and the former stands frozen and completely overwhelmed by the horns of a dilemma.

While the tension culminates in Bait Episode 2, the crowd roars all of a sudden as one of the protestors (Sid, the one Shah met outside the Gala) runs towards Shah with a spray can. In a state of panic and self-defense, Shah gives a heroic display and knocks the attacker out.

People click videos of the same and the whole thing soon goes viral online putting Shah's career in a precarious situation. As the fiasco ends in Bait Episode 2, the scene shifts to Shah's room (takes place after the Gala) where he was talking to the pig's head (imagining it to be a podcast) and his cousin Q suddenly makes an entrance.

She looks worried about Shah as she probably overheard him talking to someone. Shah confirms that it was just him running lines for his audition and the two wish each other "Eid Mubarak" before retiring for the night.
