Netflix dropped the official trailer of Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black Season 3 a few hours ago on YouTube. The show premieres on August 27 this year.
The series is about the meeting of two young women coming from very different worlds where one struggles everyday as a dancer in a strip club, trapped under the control of a violent pimp, and another manages a successful hair relaxer business but goes through constant problems with her difficult in-laws and feels stuck in a marriage without love.
The show has released two seasons so far, and now in season 3, the leaders of the Bellarie family might experience long prison sentences after Kimmie and Mallory carried out a carefully planned ambush in the season 2 finale. The Bellaries stand as one of Chicago's most powerful families. They earned money by successfully starting a hair-care company called Beauty in Black.
Taylor Polidore Williams returns as Kimmie along with Crystle Stewart in the role of Mallory. Other cast members include Amber Reign Smith as Rain, Xavier Smalls as Angel, Ricco Ross as Horace, Julian Horton as Roy, Terell Carter as Varney, Steven G. Norfleet as Charles, Richard Lawson as Norman, Bryan Tanaka as Alex, Debbi Morgan as Olivia, and Charles Malik Whitfield as Jules.

Beauty in Black: The Bellaries are going to prison
The Beauty in Black brand was created by the head of the Bellarie family, Horace. He controls every department of the business, especially finance. As a result, the rest of the Bellaries have no choice but to follow Horace's lead even if they don't agree with what he decides.
The show's season 2 ended with a shocking twist where Horace comes back to join forces with Kimmie and Mallory. Together, they scheme against the rest of the Bellarie family and hand them over to the authorities. After handing them over to the authorities, Horace looks at them and says,
“This is chess, and you’re still playing checkers. Checkmate. Welcome to prison.”
Meanwhile, Roy, Jules, Charles, Olivia, and Norman were left powerless, sitting in jail cells, while Horace, Kimmie, Mallory, and Varney walked out of the boardroom in victory. The Bellaries were officially trapped and locked away, marking the end of their control.
Looking ahead to season 3, Kimmie believes Roy will struggle the most in prison because of his hot-tempered, explosive, drug-dependent nature. On the other hand, Olivia may start a new empire from prison and rise in power behind bars.
Beauty in Black Season 3 trailer breakdown
The trailer kicks off with a tense group meeting between the Bellaries, where warnings are shared about someone watching closely. The Bellaries try to find the weak link among themselves. One of the group members says,
"Trying to figure out, which one of us is the weak link."
As the trailer progresses, Mallory thinks back to earlier warnings she should have taken seriously because Olivia once told her to run. Kimmie moves into new alliances to create her position and claim control in the club.
The trailer also reveals the rise of tensions, with Olivia thinking to go nuclear, followed by harsh physical clashes and reminders that enemies are planning against them. The Bellaries further explain how they had to learn survival in a harsh and unforgiving world. The trailer ends with Kimmie's strong reminder that she is still in charge when everything begins to collapse.
The new chapter will unfold with Kimmie's growing position in the Bellarie empire, which soon faces serious trouble after a violent clash puts everyone tied to the family at risk. As per the trailer, Mallory forms a strained alliance with Kimmie, and together the two women face mounting dangers that emerge from within the family's own ranks.
Beauty in Black Season 4 is on its way
Netflix had announced in December 2025 that the Tyler Perry drama would end with its third season. Later, in July 2026, the streamer changed its decision and confirmed that a fourth season has been ordered.
Besides the renewal announcement, Perry shared a message with fans that Beauty in Black will return for Season 4 and the Bellarie family’s story is still unfinished. He explained that the story has some sections which needs further exploration.
The showrunner thanked the audience who supported the show from the beginning and shared it widely and further promised that more episodes are coming soon.
