The locals? They're all really strange people, and they always seem to get themself into some kind of trouble.
Martin tries to do his job as the local town doctor, but he struggles to adjust to the town's rules, and it is because of this that the people in the town find him rude. However, they still depend on him for help.
The more time he spends in town, the more he gets pulled into everyone’s problems, even when he just wants his own peace.
What happened in episode 7, and what to expect from episode 8?
Episode 7 of Best Medicine showed us one of the weirdest town traditions. Port Wenn celebrated the Blood Factory festival based on a really silly horror book. This was a nightmare for Martin because he has a fear of blood. Things got worse when fake blood used for the event caused allergic reactions, with Louisa getting very sick.
Martin found out that she had too much iron in her blood and needed help fast. Even after she fired him as her doctor, he did not stop trying to save her.
Episode 8 will bring us a much darker mystery. The synopsis of the episode, as per Rotten Tomatoes, says,
"Port Wenn goes into high alert when a corpse is found in the town's bog and Martin's autopsy reveals that he was murdered; Martin's solo investigation trek leads him to a startling discovery about himself."
This new case gives Martin a different kind of medical puzzle, and the episode will continue to focus on his struggles and his connection with everyone in the town.
