The first season of Laura Ingalls Wilder's series was added to Netflix on July 9 this year. The story is about the Ingalls family, who start their 'new forever' on the prairie outside the growing town of Independence. The four family members endure the tough realities of 1800s frontier life with their dog, Jack.

Eli James becomes the main voice in this debate. He makes promises of wealth that turn out to be empty, and his actions push members of both groups to leave Independence. The truth eventually comes out that the government would demand money from landowners once the Native Americans were removed. Gemma manages to learn a few lessons from these events, but her husband shows far less growth.

This season isn't just about a crime. It's about the intersection of the Navajo Nation and the outside world in the most jarring way possible.

The plot moves into the 1970s, and the show leans hard into that gritty neo-western aspect that fans absolutely love. The big news this season is the arrival of some serious heavy hitters in the cast. The new chapter got Franka Potente, Titus Welliver, Jessica Matten, Deanna Allison, Isabel DeRoy-Olson, and many more.
