Netflix's action K-drama, Bloodhounds, is set to return with a new Season on April 3, 2026. While Season 2 will see the boxing duo fight another crime syndicate, it was Season 1 that made the K-drama so popular.Season 1 followed Geon-woo and Woo-jin as they take down a corrupt loan shark named Myeong-gil. They learn that, like Geon-woo's mother, Myeong-gil also lends money to small business owners, then torments them to return the sum at high interest. Unlike Myeong-gil, Mr. Choi, another money lender, is also an important part of the K-drama as he followed his principles even when surrounded by bloodhounds blinded by greed.He also becomes a huge part of the duo's life, helping them take down Myeong-gil. Mr. Choi (Huh Joon-ho) was not actually aware that his former employee, Myeong-gil, was running a corrupt money-lending business called Smile Capitals until Episode 3.He tries to protect Hyun-joo (Kim Sae-ron) from the man who robbed him and left him crippled years ago. But Hyun-joo, with Geon-woo and Woo-jin, was determined to expose the corruption of Smile Capitals and save the lives of So-yeon and others like her. However, the trio's meddling also brought danger and threatened the lives of the people around them.After finding out about Mr. Choi's new whereabouts, Myeong-gil visited him with his henchman, Beom, in Episode 6. While Woo-jin tried to fight back and protect Choi, he was stabbed by Beom, who later followed Choi to the basement and beat him up. It was Myeong-gil who slashed his throat and killed Choi, the one from whom he had learnt about this business.The death of Mr. Choi in Season 1 of Bloodhounds was a turning point for both the K-drama and Woo-jin and Geon-woo's story, as while it left them vulnerable at first, it also fueled their desire for revenge even more.
