It's time to take out your finest evening gowns and get ready for another social season as Bridgerton Season 4 Part 1 is finally streaming on Netflix. The latest highly anticipated season of the streamer's historical romance series is based on Julia Quinn's An Offer From A Gentleman, which follows the love story of the second-oldest Bridgerton sibling, Benedict (Luke Thompson) and Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha).

Dearest gentle reader, it's that time of the year again! Thanks to Netflix's Regency-era romance series, seasoned genre fans can finally escape into a world of balls and glamour with Bridgerton Season 4, which features a page from Benedict Bridgerton's love story. While Benedict is the most Bohemian of the siblings, all his ideas about aversion to marriage and settling down went out the window when he locked eyes with a mysterious Lady in Silver at his mother's masquerade ball.

In Bridgerton's world, falling in love is inevitable, but Benedict and Sophie are doing it in style. Donned in their finest clothing and masks that conceal their identities, Benedict and Sophie fall in love amidst enchanting (pun intended) tunes in Bridgerton Season 4, which has been a staple and iconic addition to the series since Season 1.

In a recent interview, music supervisor Justin Kamps, who has worked on the hit series since 2022, unpacked the needle drops featured in Bridgerton Season 4 and how they enhance Benedict and Sophie's enchanting love story.

More on this in our story.

From Coldplay to Taylor Swift: Here's a list of music featured in Bridgerton Season 4 Part 1

Here are all the songs and pop covers featured in the first part of Bridgerton Season 4:

Episode 1: The Waltz

“Life in Technicolor” (Coldplay) by Vitamin String Quartet

Never Let You Go” (Third Eye Blind) by Vitamin String Quartet

DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” (Usher ft. Pitbull) by Strings From Paris

This is the episode that starts it all. Unbothered by the societal pressure to marry and settle down, Benedict continues to live his life as is until a mysterious lady catches his eye at his mother's ball, setting the stage for his Cinderella-inspired love story in Bridgerton Season 4.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kamps unpacked his decision to feature Coldplay's Life in Technicolor as Sophie's introduction in the series.

The music supervisor felt that the song matched Sophie's awe, as he revealed:

“There’s all this color and lights and everyone’s on their best behavior. ‘Life In Technicolor’ really matches that moment where she’s in total awe and wonder at the whole thing.”

Episode 2: Time Transfixed

Enchanted” (Taylor Swift) by Joseph William Morgan

Fans might feel a lack of pop covers in the second episode of Bridgerton Season 4, but here, less is more. Fans have been petitioning Kamps to include Taylor Swift's 'Enchanted' in Benedict and Sophie's story, and their wish is finally granted in Episode 2.

In his interview with Netflix Tudum, Kamps revealed how Benophie fans practically chose this song for the couple:

“Anytime I was posting about Season 3’s music, or if I was just looking online to see what people were saying, there were all these people just retweeting the YouTube video of this song or being like, ‘You have one job. This is the ultimate Benophie song. You have to use it.’”

Episode 3: The Field Next to the Other Road

All I Wanted” (Paramore) by Vitamin String Quartet

As Benedict and Sophie grow closer, Paramore's All I Wanted fills the air, silently hinting at the couple's eventual growth. Elsewhere, since Bridgerton Season 4 takes a page from Downton Abbey's Upstairs-Downstairs storyline, the Mayfair staff initiates a 'maid war.'

Episode 4: An Offer From A Gentleman

bad idea right?” (Olivia Rodrigo) by Caleb Chan

The title of this Olivia Rodrigo song might bring flashbacks of the carriage scene (in Season 3) but it's featured in an important scene in the last episode of Bridgerton Season 4 Part 1, which is titled after Quinn's book. Without giving any spoilers, Kamps unpacked this song choice as:

''When [“Bad Idea Right?”] plays, it’s such a, let’s say, energetic moment. The song plays right into it. There’s a lot of bad ideas happening. And the arrangement, especially with that energetic almost fiddle sound, builds in that passion.”

You can stream Bridgerton Season 4 Part 1 on Netflix. The concluding part will arrive on February 26.
