Apple TV+'s new Colin Farrell sci-fi show Sugar Season 2 dropped on June 19, 2026. Season 1 follows John Sugar, a private investigator who is recruited by a movie producer to find his missing granddaughter. Season 1 ends on a shocking twist that Sugar is an extraterrestrial being. In Season 2 of the new Colin Farrell sci-fi show, Sugar is plunged into a case where he needs to find a missing boxer, Moon.

This new Colin Farrell sci-fi is mostly shot in Los Angeles. Speaking to Good Morning America, about the 'magic' of filming in Los Angeles, Farrell said,

"The magic is in L.A. I mean it's broken like every major city in the world in so many ways and it needs better help and support from the people who are getting overpaid to do very little.

Farrell then explains why Los Angeles is a magical place, or as he calls it, 'Eden'.

But it's a magic place. It's so spirited. It's so multicultural. There's lovely art scene. There's incredible book stores and magic natures. There's racoons, coyotes and peregrine falcons everywhere. The place is really a bit of an Eden, albeit as I said."

Farell further reveals why Los Angeles is not a popular filming location anymore. He explained that it's quite expensive to film in the city because of the taxes that are imposed.

Danny makes Sugar listen to two audio recordings in which it sounds like his brother is trying to escape from someone. Ji Moon further advises his brother to keep practicing. When Sugar starts the investigation, it takes him to Koreatown. A girl in the bar recognises him, and he challenges her to a game of pool. The girl informs him that Ji was seeing a woman called Hannah McDaniels. She also tells him that many mysterious men came looking for Ji.

Back at the hotel, Sugar tries to communicate with the aliens. After dinner, he tries to find more evidence about the Moon brothers and learns that while Danny's career was on the rise, Ji was struggling.

He then meets Hannah the next morning. She reveals that she is not dating Ji and that she helped him steal drugs from the hospital. At the hospital, Sugar recognises a sound from the audio recording of Ji as if he were trying to walk down fire stairs.
