Paramount Global Content Distribution had acquired the rights for its global release. The series debuted on BBC iPlayer and BBC One on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, for U.K viewers.

Can You Keep a Secret? Season 1 will release in the U.S on Thursday, February 12, 2026, on Paramount+. It is created and written by Simon Mayhew-Archer (This Country). The show is loosely based on his and his family's experience. Directed by Simon Hynd and Lauriel Martin, the show is produced by Joe Scantlebury. It was filmed in the West Country.

At the centre of the series is Debbie Fendon, a grandmom who asks her husband, William, to play dead for a while so that they can secure insurance money. However, their son Harry gets entangled in his parents' scam. Can he hide it from his wife, Neha, who works for the local police? Can Debbie and her family keep the secret?
