Carrie’s darkest secrets begin to surface in the chilling official trailer for Mike Flanagan’s series

There's a lot more to Carrie than what Prime Video showed viewers in its first teaser. Almost a month later, the streaming platform has finally released the official trailer, giving viewers a deeper look at Mike Flanagan's upcoming horror series.

The teaser showed Carrie White questioning why she couldn't just have a friend while also showing the bullying she faces at school. However, the official trailer shows conversations between White and other characters that we didn't get to see in the teaser, along with the darkest secrets that start to come out.

The first half of the trailer shows White talking to other girls in her class, with them praising White's dress as she tries to get along. However, as the trailer moves forward, it shows White being bullied by them and using her telekinetic powers on them, showing what she is capable of.

What does the trailer of Carrie reveal?

The trailer, uploaded on Prime Video's YouTube, starts with Carrie White being introduced in the class. She later meets Sue, another student in the class who further compliments White's dress. She takes the compliment, adding that she made it, and another student slightly mocks her, showing surprise at the dress.

White recalls that she was schooled at home before and doesn't know where to begin. The trailer shows her excitement as she sits in the science class. We also hear a voice explaining the mystery about Chamberlain, which the police, press, and scientists were not able to explain.

The trailer further shows a softer side of White as she explains her dream about having friends. But instead, it takes a darker turn as she gets ganged up on by other students. In one clip, White is sitting on the floor, crying and asking for help, but instead of helping her, the others simply stand there and film her. They even create a fake account for White, using the name "Red" to make fun of her.

In the trailer, viewers finally see White getting her mysterious telekinetic powers while growing up as she breaks the glass bottles and knocks the car off course. In another scene, the girl who made fun of her started bleeding and hurt her nose. Even when White's mother tells her to shut up and listen, her daughter hits the table, causing the electricity to go out. She is raised mainly by her mother after her father's death.

Towards the end of the trailer, White stands in front of others wearing a white dress and a crown, with her background voice explaining that all she ever wanted to do was go to school. The trailer gives us a look at her world, but it still leaves viewers asking the truth about Chamberlain and whether she is connected to it somehow.

Carrie is created by Mike Flanagan, famous for the horror series The Haunting of Hill House. His other works include The Life of Chuck, Midnight Mass, and Doctor Sleep. It is based on the novel by Stephen King and stars Summer H. Howell as Carrie White, Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle, Samantha Sloyan as White's mother, Margaret White, Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, and Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin.
