Severide found out that Hopkins had served under his father, Benny, at Firehouse 66, who had suspended him without any reason. When Severide confronted Hopkins' bias, the new Chief announced that he plans on using his new position to kick out legacy firefighters from CFD, setting up an intense fight with Severide.

However, things take a turn when Kidd suspects foul play and decides to go against the company, which does not sit right with her new Chief. It looks like after Severide, Kidd will butt heads with her new boss, which will certainly create tension at the firehouse.
