As Severide arrived to investigate the crime scene in Chicago Fire Season 15 Episode 4, Agent Calloway joined him. While the arsonist had left no trail, the babysitter's body caught Severide's attention. Severide noted that the body was posed, hinting that the babysitter was likely incapacitated before the fire and could not escape. This suggested somebody intentionally killed her before the fire to abduct the judge's daughter.

Elsewhere, Kidd arrived at the firehouse that responded to the fire. One of the firefighters remembered seeing a White Honda Civic snooping around the house when they were putting out fires. After PD put out a BOLO for the exact make and model, Severide and Calloway tracked the vehicle, but it was already set on fire. Severide found the judge's daughter's blanket and a scales symbol graffitied on the car, hinting somebody was taking revenge on the judge by kidnapping his daughter.

Kidd turns to Van Meter for help in Chicago Fire Season 15 Episode 4

Kidd met up with Van Meter at the academy in Chicago Fire Season 15 Episode 4. After Kidd filled him in about the babysitter's body, Van Meter recalled a case from 2008, where the arsonist paralyzed his victims' bodies before setting them on fire. Van Meter suggested meeting with the arsonist, whose name was Anton Liddell, in prison, and Kidd accompanied him. It turns out Liddell had no remorse for all the lives he took and he called the killings art. He remembered how the officer assigned to his case became his adversary, as he was obsessed with catching him.

It turns out Agent Calloway put Liddell behind bars in Chicago Fire Season 15 Episode 4. When Severide pressed him for information, Calloway suspected the case was connected to one of Liddell's accomplices. Calloway admitted that some evidence pointed to Liddell having an accomplice, but he never looked into it. Severide suggested investigating old case files to narrow down the suspects, and they concluded on a man named David Palmer.

In the final moments of Chicago Fire Season 15 Episode 4, Severide learned that Calloway had gone rogue to put Palmer behind bars and right his wrong from the old case. Kidd and Severide tracked down Calloway to the Elk Motel, where he arrested Liddell in 2008. The couple found the judge's crying daughter, and Kidd took her outside to safety, while Severide continued looking for Calloway and Palmer.

Severide tracked down Calloway to the motel balcony. As Calloway went inside to search for Palmer, Severide noticed a beeping device. It was too late, as the explosion claimed Calloway's life, with Severide barely surviving. Agent Evans revealed that the FBI found Palmer's body.

Severide met with Van Meter after the case was closed, fearing they got the wrong guy. Severide felt that the real arsonist was looking for a worthy adversary and the symbol meant nemesis. While the case was closed for now, Severide could be roped into this conspiracy in upcoming episodes.
