Besides Love Story being nominated for an Emmy this year in the Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series category, Constance Zimmer has also been nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category. She played Ann Marie Messina, Carolyn Bessette's mother in the show. Constance Zimmer apparently was not only not expecting her Emmy nomination for her Love Story role but also did not believe it when her publicist told her. Constance Zimmer needed to see proof to believe she was Emmy-nominated for her Love Story role Constance Zimmer played one of the most important characters in Love Story, Ann Marie Messina. Ann was Carolyn's mother and lost two of her three daughters in the 1999 Martha's Vineyard plane crash. Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, John F. It is evident that she was worried about the stressful and overwhelming nature of the media attention surrounding John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette's relationship. It is not easy to portray a mother who has known such loss, especially when the character is based on a real person. However, Constance Zimmer has done a commendable job and is now nominated for an Emmy. But Zimmer had not expected she would be nominated. As she said on Good Morning America, she didn't believe she was nominated for her Love Story role when her publicist called to congratulate her. Recalling the incident, Constance Zimmer shared that she was not even waiting for someone to inform her she was nominated, as she was simply not expecting it. Zimmer revealed that she was on a work call when she saw that her publicist was calling her on the other line. Initially, she had thought that her publicist was calling to congratulate her on the show getting nominated for an Emmy, as Zimmer was aware of that. Zimmer then said,"And so when I clicked over from my work call, she was like congratulations. And I said yeah I know it's so great the show's nominated. She's like no, you're nominated. I was like I'm sorry I don't see it in writing anywhere so I don't believe you."Zimmer had most likely not seen any publication report on it yet, and thus did not beleive she was nominated. Regardless, now she very much believes that she's nominated and has begun preparing for the event. As she shared on Good Morning America, Constance Zimmer has not yet finalized the exact dress she's wearing to the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, but knows that it's either one between two dresses she has finalized. This is not Zimmer's first Emmy nomination. She has also been nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category for playing Quinn King in UnREAL. Zimmer also shared how special it was to play Ann Marie Messina, as she was a real person with her own story. As Zimmer also said, Ann was "the first character that I think I've put the most of who I am and my life experience into"Thus, irrespective of how unbelievable it was for Constance Zimmer that she was nominated for playing Ann Marie Messina in Love Story role, she loved playing the character, and thinking of her still tears her up even today. Love Story is streaming on Hulu. The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards will take place on September 14, 2026.
