As Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 gears up for its March release, it seems that Marvel might have changed the premiere's release strategy. When the series returns to our small screens next month, the premiere is rumored to consist of only the first episode of the second season. But the release strategy for the rest of the seven episodes of the season remains unclear as of now.
All that the official Marvel site states is this:
"Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will premiere March 24 at 6 p.m. PT, exclusively on Disney+"
What do we know about the release strategy for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2?
As of now, we know very little about the release strategy that Marvel is going to follow with Born Again Season 2. For now, it seems that we know the release strategy only for the Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 premiere. We may learn more only in the coming weeks. Apart from that, we did get some details regarding the upcoming season, thanks to Dario Scardapane's recent SFX interview.
In that interview, Scardapane firstly confirmed that the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) will not factor into the series. Dario Scardapane began by saying that he was a fan of the comics, but revealed that the wider MCU will not be crossing over with the Marvel series:
“I’d be into it, because I dig the comics! But no… That’s been kind of a fun and challenging thing. We know there’s that huge world out there of the MCU. This corner of it has crossovers. We’ve seen Daredevil in other shows, there are other characters that are going to be popping up in movies and stuff, and that all goes into the larger MCU of it all."
Scardapane further continued:
“The joke we make is, ‘Oh, those guys are uptown – we’re downtown!’ We kind of have a pocket that’s in this world of Hell’s Kitchen, in this world of New York. I always think that maybe these characters take little vacations into the larger world but the story that we’re focusing on is really granular."
Scardapane also hypes up Karen Page's role in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2:
Deborah Ann Woll did not have a huge role in the first season, except for the season 1 finale. But that is set to change with Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, as she is going to be Matt's partner in crime. Marvel Executive Brad Winderbaum teased this partnership between Karen and Matt last month:
"[Matt's] in a completely different reality now after the end of the first season. He's now fighting the power in a massive way. If Season 1 was about Wilson Fisk's rise to power, Season 2 is about the trappings of power and how hard it is to hold on to that power once you have it. When power is your only motivation. I think it also does a great job of portraying what the challenges are to bring disparate parties together to take on the power. It's one thing for like a bunch of people to point in Kingpin's direction and say, 'That guy’s bad,' but it’s another thing to get everybody on the same page. It's really fun to watch him try to do that. But he's got a great partner in Karen Page. So, I'm very excited for people to see that, too."
Now, showrunner Dario Scardapane also hyped up Karen's role in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 in the recent SFX interview:
"In season two, the evolution of Karen Page feels so on path with everything that’s come before. In my mind – and in Debs’s mind – she’s never been a sidekick; she’s never been a girlfriend. She’s always been somebody who both mirrors and pushes Murdock – not always in the best way. This version of Karen Page is a blast. It’s a curveball that you haven’t seen before. The great thing is we got to talk to her about it in season one, before we started getting into the real nitty-gritty of season two. Her input adds to what we do in the writers’ room and by the time you come out at the end you’re like, ‘Whoa, this actually makes sense!’ I think fans are really going to dig this Karen Page. The events of Mayor Fisk’s rise prompt people to take sides, and some of them have to take sides pretty vigorously."
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 premieres on Disney+ on March 24, 2026. Until then, the entire first season is currently accessible through streaming on the same OTT platform.
