The episode Heartless of the true crime show Dateline revisits the disappearance and shocking murder of a 53-year-old resident of Wagoner, Oklahoma, named Talina Galloway. According to NBC News, the new episode, releasing on October 9, 2026, features the story of Talina, who was killed by her roommate Kore Bommeli in April 2020.

Fox 25 reported that on April 17, Bommeli reported Talina missing and falsely stated that she had gone into quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19. Later, authorities found that Talina had never visited Wagoner Community Hospital for testing and had not even spoken with her doctor.

In January 2021, investigators discovered Talina's remains in a forest area near Mena, Arkansas, and confirmed that her death was a case of homicide. During the case review, authorities uncovered evidence connecting Bommeli to a 2014 attempted poisoning in Wisconsin. Bommeli was convicted of two counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide for trying to poison her neighbors with ricin.

According to the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office, Kore Bommeli reported Talina's Facebook post about COVID-19 and said she left home to spend time alone at her favorite lake. Bommeli also claimed that Talina left home after being tested for COVID-19 at Wagoner Community Hospital following her doctor's instruction to stay quarantined.

Following a detailed investigation, Wagoner County investigators confirmed that Talina was never tested at any hospital for COVID-19 and had no communication with her doctor, which directly disproved Bommeli’s account.

January 2021

Heartless reveals that Talina's remains were found in a forest near Mena, Arkansas, and that the medical examiner ruled her death a homicide.

During the investigation, Wagoner County Sheriff's investigators uncovered evidence connecting Bommeli to a 2014 case in Wisconsin, where she had attempted to poison her neighbors with homemade ricin. Meanwhile, investigators began searching for Bommeli, who was already out on bond for a prior Wagoner County charge of illegal firearm possession.

Police believed that Bommeli had returned to Dane County, Wisconsin. Deputies from the Dane County Sheriff's Office located her there, identified her as Kore Bommeli Adams, and took her into custody to face trial for her Wisconsin charges.

June 2025

Wagoner County Sheriff's investigators traveled to Wisconsin to testify in Bommeli's trial.

On June 27, Bommeli was found guilty by a jury of attempting to murder her neighbors with poison. A Dane County judge accepted the verdict and convicted her on two counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide. Prosecutors stated that in the spring of 2014, she placed ricin around their home while her neighbors were away on vacation.

The killer was sentenced to a total of 35 years in prison (28 years for manslaughter and another 7 years for desecration).
