As Dateline reports, Brandi White's family is still waiting for answers since she went missing in August 2025. At the time she went missing, Brandi was 37 years old and disappeared in a rather strange way.Brandi White was walking on the highway with a family friend at 3 am on August 20, 2025, when headlights from a car spooked them. They both ran away in different directions to save themselves. Brandi hasn't been seen since.Dateline: What happened to Brandi White?Brandi White has had a difficult life, but she has always overcome every obstacle she faced. As Brandi's aunt, Angela Cordell told Dateline, Brandi had been beaten up and raped when she was approximately 20 years old and spent 3 months in a coma as a result. Cordell said:“She came out of that, you know, and had to learn how to walk again and talk again and everything... But she survived it.”Brandi has a teen son and a younger daughter and, as Angela revealed, was always a positive presence in the lives of her loved ones. Brandi had also struggled with drug addiction, but after her last rehab treatment in 2025, she seemed hopeful.Speaking about Brandi's optimism going forward, Angela told Dateline:“When she first got out of rehab, you know, she was like, ‘OK, I’m gonna try to make it,’”Thus, it was extremely strange when Brandi suddenly vanished in August 2025. Brandi White was walking near Highway 532 and William Warren Road in Mount Olive, Mississippi, on August 20, 2025, at 3 am, with a family friend, Justin Mahaffey. According to Mahaffey, headlights from an approaching car spooked them, and Brandi and he ran in different directions to save themselves.While Mahaffey eventually returned to their vehicle, Brandi did not. As Covington County Sheriff’s Department's Chief Deputy Ricky Lott told Dateline, the area Brandi was last seen at used to be a gravel pit. Later on, it became a site where people dumped their garbage. The police have searched the area thoroughly and found no trace of her. Only a shoe has been found. However, Lott told Dateline:“Nobody was able to confirm that it was her shoe,”Moreover, Lott also told Dateline that Brandi had been living with Justin Mahaffey for 10 days when she went missing. Mahaffey claims he looked for her after he returned to their vehicle and shouted out to find her after she disappeared. Lott has confirmed that Justin Mahaffey is still being considered a suspect and is yet to be ruled out.Since it has been a year since Brandi disappeared, Lott speculates that she might not be alive anymore. He told Dateline:“What we do here would be to look for a body... or look for, you know, if she was, you know, killed and disposed of someplace.”He also said:“There’s a possibility she could have overdosed and whoever she was with may have panicked and didn’t know what to do,”However, Lott did say that none of these are proven facts and are all theories so far. The authorities are just looking for some real information that will help them understand what exactly happened. More information will also help in giving Brandi's family some much-needed closure. Brandi's family loves her and is hoping for her safe return.At the time of her disappearance, Brandi was 5’3’’ in height and weighed 130 lbs.
