Dateline revealed through its social media handles that one of Jacksonville Beach's shocking trials came to an end this week: the Jared Bridegan murder caase. One of the most shocking arrests in this case was made in March 2023 for Mario Fernandez Saldana, who is Jared Bridegan's ex-wife, Shanna Gardner's current husband. Mario killed Jared with Henry Tenon's help in February 2022.The police had arrested Mario, Henry, and Shanna for their role in Jared's murder, and this week, Mario's trial came to an end as he was convicted of both solicitation of murder and first-degree murder. Jared was dropping the twins at their mother, Shanna's, home at Jacksonville Beach. While driving, he noticed a tire in the middle of the road, obstructing the car's way.Thus, Jared got out of the car to move the tire off when Tenon shot him. Some bullets even passed through the car and hit mere inches away from Jared's 2-year-old daughter. Investigators were sure that it was planned murder, but there wasn't a breakthrough in this case until January 2023, when Henry Tenon was arrested.But this arrest led to the arrest of the other two suspects by March and August of the same year. Of these, Tenon took a plea deal in exchange for which he was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.Now, this Dateline case saw one more conviction as Mario Fernandez Saldana waits for his sentence, and Shanna Gardner waits for trial to start in this September. As of now, his sentence has not been revealed, but we may learn it soon. This is right in the heels, as Shanna Gardner's trial is about to start in the first week of September. The prosecution was able to prove that Mario Fernandez Saldana and Shanna Gardner planned the murder after the latter's bitter custody battle with Jared Bridegan.The couple hired Henry Tenon for approximately $10,000 and paid him through three different checks of different value. The investigators maintained that these three checks were signed by either Mario or Shanna. The Assistant State Attorney Christina Stifler ultimately closed her argument, saying that at the time of his death, Bridegan was:“Unarmed, unaware, exposed, vulnerable. He couldn’t have known, on that cold asphalt in February of 2022, the architects of his murder had been making preparations for his death for months.”Outside the court, Jared Bridegan's family, including his widow Kirsten Bridegan, thanked the community and the law enforcement officers for their role in delivering justice.
