The Australian crime-comedy series Deadloch returns for Season 2 on Prime Video. The show was created by Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan and combines elements of crime investigation and dark humor.

Season 2 will offer fans a murder mystery told through satire and provide an alternative viewpoint to typical buddy cop dramas through its use of queer and feminist themes. The first season of Deadloch (which began airing in June 2023) was both critically and culturally well received, and the development of the second installment of the series was confirmed in July 2024.

Season 2 was filmed in a completely different location, launching a brand new chapter for the show's characters. As of February 2026, the trailer has also come out and fans need to wait for only a few days.

So, Deadloch Season 2 will premiere on March 20, 2026, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in more than 240 countries. This chapter will have a total of six episodes, with the first two scheduled for premiere day followed by a weekly release pattern.

The show is a dark-comedy crime mystery and Season 2 continues after the first season’s finale. There's a shift in the location from Tasmania to Australia’s Northern Territory, which promises to give viewers a new atmosphere and visual style.

Detectives Dulcie Collins and Eddie Redcliffe travel to Darwin to investigate the death of Eddie’s former partner, but the case grows into a larger mystery involving unidentified remains and missing people. The returning cast includes:

Kate Box as Senior Sergeant Dulcie Collins: The disciplined and methodical detective who prefers order and professionalism.

Madeleine Sami as Detective Eddie Redcliffe: She often relies on emotions and ends up bending the rules.

Nina Oyama as Abby Matsuda and Alicia Gardiner as Cath York are also making their way back for Deadloch Season 2. And just like Season 1, Box and Sami's dynamics will be the focus of the series.

New cast members are Luke Hemsworth as Jason Wade, Steve Bisley, Shari Sebbens, Genevieve Morris and a few more. Reportedly, up to 17 new actors join this season which means there will be new energy and dynamics between the characters.
