Paramount and Showtime have just unveiled a mysterious teaser trailer for Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 along with its release date. The new season will feature new killers and the return of a character most viewers thought was dead.

Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 was greenlit in early October 2025 and is going to be released approximately a year later. As the new and mysterious trailer for the upcoming season confirms, Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 is going to premiere on Paramount+ with Showtime on October 30, 2026.
The upcoming season will have 10 episodes, but it is yet to be revealed if the season will premiere with the release of one episode or more. Thus, the exact date of release of each episode is not yet confirmed. All episodes will be released on Paramount+ with Showtime, and will be available for streaming on Paramount+.
The teaser trailer for Season 2 shows us Dexter (played by Michael C. Hall) going for a regular eye checkup. A technician adjusts the lenses on the phoropter and asks him:
"Better before or better now?"
It gradually becomes clearer that what Dexter has been trying to look at is the premiere date for Season 2. The screen says:
October 30
followed by:
He's back.
The rest of the short teaser is glimpses at Dexter organizing his weapons. We do get to see a short clip of him as he's about to stab someone.
As Variety reports, the logline of Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 states that in the upcoming season Dexter will be
“caught between two killers – one notorious and the other terrorizing New York in ways no one ever anticipated – all while battling his greatest enemy yet: a midlife crisis. Harrison continues his own pursuit of justice as father and son face their darkest chapter.”
Life is going to continue to be a challenge for Dexter as he faces new killers while dealing with his own issues. Besides Hall, a few more cast members are reprising their roles for Season 2. Jack Alcott is returning as Harrison Morgan, and Uma Thurman is returning as Charley Brown. Surprisingly, Krysten Ritter, whose character Mia LaPierre / Lady Vengeance was believed to be dead, is reprising her role in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 as well.
New cast members joining the show are Brian Cox, Dan Stevens, and Gabriel Luna as serial killers Don Framt/New York Ripper, Owen Stark/Five Borough Killer, and Ray Ballard/The Sleepy-Eyed Stranger, respectively. Bokeem Woodbine and Nona Parker Johnson will star as Captain Mixon and Fiona Mixon.
Dexter: Resurrection is developed by Clyde Phillips, who also serves as the showrunner and an executive producer.
