Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 premiered today with Dexter Morgan trying to track down the remaining killers associated with Leon Prater's elite serial killer network after Leon's death in the Season 1 finale. Meanwhile, a highly dangerous threat known as The Five Borough Killer began operations in the city and put the public and police on high alert.

Show Snob mentioned Dexter's son Harrison had completed police academy training and started his career as a rookie officer with the NYPD homicide division. He is currently working closely with Detective Claudette Wallace, who is leading a long-running investigation about a mysterious and notorious aging killer known as the New York Ripper.

Dexter tracked down Albert Walker and prepared a kill room. However, the encounter didn't go as planned because Dexter faced a harsh midlife crisis realization as his age became a serious physical disadvantage. He was exhausted, struggling to catch his breath, and painfully became aware that he could no longer rely on unstudied instinct alone to survive.

Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 premiere kicked off with Dexter's nightmare about Angel's death

Previously in Season 1, the series revealed that billionaire Leon Prater shot and killed Angel Batista. Dexter fled the scene on Leon's stolen yacht and staged it to frame the billionaire for Angel's murder. Armed with the serial killer dossiers recovered from Leon's vault, Dexter set out alone to track down the New York Ripper. The sequence unfolded with Dexter tracking the Ripper using the stolen files while evading the police investigation into Angel's death.

The premiere of the new chapter began with an Angel Batista nightmare. The plot took a psychological turn after the guilt-ridden Dexter began experiencing vivid hallucinations of Angel Batista. In one of these visions, Dexter imagined that he and Angel had placed the New York Ripper on the kill table together. In the nightmare, Angel selected the right knife, passed it to Dexter, and urged him to complete the murder.

The dream took a shocking twist when the victim on the table suddenly morphed into Angel himself and forced Dexter to confront his deep-seated guilt over Angel's tragic death before snapping back to reality.

The premiere of Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 revealed that Dexter covered his tracks, collected important files, and moved on. Leon's secret vault proved to be a valuable source of evidence for law enforcement, but not before Dexter eliminated Leon using his usual method and stole his extensive archives. Rather than just five, this vault contained files connected to dozens of active serial killers across the country.

The episode Risky Business quickly revealed via a time jump that Dexter had already tracked down and killed both the Midnight Mangler and the Yonkers Slayer and ended their crimes. Meanwhile, he continued working as an Uber driver. This job helped him protect his secret life and allowed him to stay close to his son, Harrison, who had shockingly joined the NYPD Homicide Unit as a police officer.

As per Show Snob, when Dexter discovered that the remaining serial killer from Leon's collective, Albert, had fled New York, he prepared to pursue him. Dexter tracked Albert back to his family home in Pennsylvania, where the killer was active. Meanwhile, Harrison was worried that his father was taking an unnecessary risk.

Dexter eventually tracked down Albert and prepared a kill room, but he soon realized that he was not that agile anymore due to his age, which became a serious issue after Albert caught him off guard and nearly murdered him. Dexter was left drained, struggling to catch his breath, and became aware that instinct alone could no longer keep him safe. The incident made him realize that he had to improve his physical fitness.
