Doc Season 3 cast guide: Who is returning with Molly Parker and who isn't

With just a day left until Doc Season 3 premieres, it's a good time to take a look at the cast members returning to the Fox series and those who won't be back. Those hoping to see Molly Parker back have good news, as the Deadwood actress is returning for Season 3 alongside Omar Metwally, Amirah Vann, and many other familiar faces.

However, there are also three faces that won't be returning for Season 3 of the Fox medical drama, which follows Amy (Molly Parker) as she tries to remember her past while balancing her work and relationships after losing years of memories.

Who is returning in the Doc Season 3 cast? Meet the returning actors

The returning Doc Season 3 cast is led by The Wicker Man star Molly Parker, who plays Dr. Amy Larsen in the Fox series. Another important star, Omar Metwally, is returning as Dr. Michael Hamda, along with Amirah Vann as Dr. Gina Walker and Jon-Michael Ecker as Dr. Jake Heller.

The Blacklist star Anya Banerjee is returning in Doc Season 3 in her role as Dr. Sonya Maitra. Lastly, viewers will also see Patrick Walker returning as Dr. TJ Coleman in the upcoming season.

The show also has a surprise for the Blair Underwood fans who first saw him as a guest star in the Season 2 finale. Earlier this year in March, Deadline reported that Underwood has become a regular cast member in Season 3 as Dr. Ben Grant.

There's also a chance that Scott Wolf could return as Dr. Richard Miller, while Claire Armstrong and Conni Miu are both likely to reprise their roles as Nurses Julie and Liz.

Who won't be back in the Doc Season 3 cast?

Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman, who played Dr. Joan Ridley in Doc, won't be returning for Season 3, as her character died in the Season 2 finale. Another cast member who won't be returning in Season 3 is Charlotte Fountain-Jardim, who played Katie Hamda in the Fox series.

Though, there's a high chance that she might appear as a guest star later on in the series. Speaking about her exit, Doc showrunner Hank Steinberg said in a reported statement at Deadline:

"Katie’s off to college, and that’s a different chapter for Amy and Michael, which is appropriate and a good shift."

Additionally, Paulyne Wei, who played Nurse Lucy, will not be returning for Season 3 after her character died in the Season 2 finale.

Doc Season 3 cast gets some exciting new additions

While some familiar faces are leaving Doc, Season 3 will also welcome four new stars in the recurring cast, giving viewers more characters and stories to follow as the medical drama returns with its next season. The news was confirmed by Deadline last month.

First on the list is My Life With The Walter Boys and Unicorn Academy star Kolton Stewart, who will play Kyle Ferguson, a brilliant but inexperienced young intern. His character is still getting used to life outside homeschooling. Next on the cast list is Cecilia Lee, famous for Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, Fear Street: Prom Queen, and SkyMed. In Doc Season 3, she will play Ruth Chen, a caring and friendly intern who believes in supporting people around her.

Barrett Carnahan fans have good news, as the actor will appear as Graham Barker in the upcoming season. Graham is a confident young man who is trying to prove that he deserves his place at the hospital. His other famous works include Cobra Kai, where he appeared as Young Kreese, Cruel Summer, and One of Us Is Lying. Fellow Travelers star Raffa Virago is also joining Season 3 as Nikki De Silva, an ambitious intern who is serious about her work. She has previously appeared in Dying in Plain Sight and Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.

Doc Season 3 will release on September 22, 2026, on Fox.
