Doctor X: Mafia in White episodes 5 and 6 sees Su-jeong take on a risky surgery despite the hospital's trap - recap inside

The recently released two episodes of Doctor X: Mafia in White bring more trouble for Su-jeong, with Dr. Na facing suspension in Episode 5 and a risky surgery putting Su-jeong to the test in Episode 6.

In Episode 5, Su-jeong saves Kwon and discovers the initials of Dr. Na carved on his body. She later scares Dr. Na by writing his initials with ketchup, leading to a fight that ends with his suspension. He was also detained by police on charges of aggravated assault and hospital disturbance.

In Episode 6, Su-jeong agrees to operate on Sang-beom, unaware that the hospital directors want to use her as bait. Sang-beom later tries to end his life but is saved by the doctors. Meanwhile, the former president arrives in the hospital unconscious, and Sang-beom's reaction hints at a troubled past.

Doctor X: Mafia in White Episode 5 recap: Su-jeong puts the new doctor in a panic

In Doctor X: Mafia in White Episode 5, Gye Su-jeong takes photos of the letters that were carved on Kwon's body. While watching the episode, I saw her saving him, and the new doctor, Dr. Na, later learned that the surgery was successful. Su-jeong also tells Kwon about the initials, but he brushes it off and thanks her for completing the surgery successfully.

Su-jeong thinks that maybe Kwon has seen other people reporting about something similar and losing their jobs, and maybe that is the reason he is deciding to keep it to himself. Once again, Dr. Na asks Su-jeong for a meal and asks about the surgery he had performed on Kwon back in the day. While Su-jeong doesn't ask him directly about the details, she tells him that the surgery seemed to be done roughly.

Later, Na takes leave after a spot is found on his liver, and he undergoes surgery. He asks other doctors if he can check the recording of his surgery, but they refuse to do so. Just then, Su-jeong writes Dr. Na's initials with ketchup, which leaves him in a state of panic, wondering if she left his initials while performing the surgery.

On top of that, Su-jeong even teases him with the carved initials and says that she will be performing his surgery from now on, no matter where he is. The two get into a fight, and in the end, Dr. Na gets suspended as Director Bu sues him for aggravated assault and disorderly misconduct after Su-jeong's agent saves her from getting terminated. Director Bu seeks to have Na Dae-il's medical license revoked.

Doctor X: Mafia in White Episode 6 recap: Su-jeong agrees to a risky surgery

Doctor X: Mafia in White Episode 6 starts by showing Su-jeong's past, where she tries to help a kid save his sister. It then returns to the present. The director and doctors of the hospital are asked to perform surgery on a patient named Sang-beom who has a bullet in his head. At this point, the hospital is also facing scrutiny for accumulated debt, and there are multiple rumors surrounding it.

The directors and doctors come up with a plan to make Su-jeong bait in the process, believing that if she fails during the operation, they can put all the blame on her and the hospital can eventually get rid of her. During the conference, Su-jeong, as expected, says that she wants to do the surgery, and they let her. It later turns out that her agent only told her to say yes to the surgery, and she also knew about her being the bait.

Doctor X: Mafia in White Episode 6 recap: Sang-beom reaches a breaking point

Su-jeong analyzes Sang-beom thoroughly and even keeps the higher-ups away from taking any photos with him. However, when Sang-beom learns that he might never see his brother in his imagination again after the surgery, he decides to not go through the surgery and even tries to end his life and goes to the terrace to jump. After the doctors don't find him in the room, they start looking for him.

On the other hand, the former president is also found unconscious and is taken to the hospital in the helicopter. Sang-beom, after seeing the helicopter, starts losing his balance. Thankfully, the doctors save him. However, after seeing the former president, he starts screaming as he remembers his past.

With two major cases unfolding at the same time, it will be interesting to see how Su-jeong handles both situations and keeps her patients safe.
