Dream to You Episode 5 proves the second-lead couple is stealing the show

After the events of the previous episode, the anticipation rose regarding Yi-jae and Soo-bin's growing romance; things take a turn in Dream to You Episode 5.

The focus on Yi-jae and Soo-bin’s relationship faces hardships once again, but the second lead couple, Yu-geon and Ha-na, steal the spotlight with their authentic representation of a growing bond.

Dream to You Episode 5 starts with Yi-jae and Soo-bin navigating through an awkward situation after their kiss at the end of the previous episode. Soon, the episode shifts its focus to Ha-na, who is at a High Value Donor Club Members’ Day celebration with her mother. She looks through the internet to search for Yu-geon but does not find anything about him.

She then asks her mother about the contract, but her mother does not entertain her questions and tells her to focus on her meeting with director Kim. Ha-na tries to warn her mother about forcing her to do things, but her mother does not let her finish and continues to focus on the event instead.

On the other hand, Sa-rang and In-uk’s relationship also flourishes as In-uk calls Sa-rang and the two meet up for a drink, and the two of them spend quality time together discussing their lives.

Dream to You Episode 5 continues with Ha-na getting worried about the comments that she is receiving, criticizing her about her acting skills. She eventually decides to meet Yu-geon and arrives at the restaurant where he works.

Even at the restaurant, she overhears the conversation of a group of people who discuss his acting skills and her inability to date anyone. Yu-geon also hears the whole thing and decides to intervene.

Ha-na, however, rushes out of the restaurant. Yu-geon then quits his job and rushes out behind Ha-na. Yu-geon confronts Ha-na and asks her the reason why she chose not to speak up when the men at the restaurant were criticizing her. To lift Ha-na’s mood, Yu-geon then tells her to go on a bike ride with him. While Ha-na rides on Yu-geon’s bike, she is able to navigate through her feelings and cries, depicting how impacted she has been by her current situation.

Dream to You Episode 5 continues with the two of them sitting together. Ha-na tells Yu-geon about how she was able to find him by searching for him online. Yu-geon then begins to reveal his life to Ha-na. It can be understood that their relationship has started to grow in an organic manner.

While discussing his life, Yu-geon reveals that even after trying for ten years, he has not been able to make a name for himself in the field of acting. He also reveals how his father told him to return after ten years, but he was not able to do it. Ha-na, instead of judging Yu-geon, gives him emotional support and then opens up about her story. Ha-na has been on TV since she was young and did not understand that it was all fake.

Her mother forced her to be on TV even when she had difficulties. The manner in which Ha-na’s past struggles are depicted in this episode resonates deeply with the viewers. She also compared her life to the movie The Truman Show, where everything was fake. Even when she struggled, her mother did not consider her emotions and urged her to keep doing shows.

Yu-geon and Ha-na's heartwarming dynamic steals the spotlight of this episode. On the other hand, Yi-jae and Soo-bin’s relationship also takes a turn, but in a complicated direction. Further details about Soo-bin’s tragic past are revealed. Soo-bin’s father tormented him to the extent that he is still not able to move on from it. It also depicts the reason that caused Soo-bin to make the decision to pursue his medical career instead of the promise he made to Yi-jae.

The burden from his father’s relentless torment caused him to decide to leave both the medical career and Yi-jae, leading to the two of them parting ways in the past. Now that the truth is revealed, it will be intriguing to see how Yi-jae and Soo-bin’s dynamic shifts.

However, the constant misunderstandings that the two of them are having throughout the series depict that it will not be an easy path for them. The cast members of Dream to You Episode 5 have done a commendable job in bringing forth a blend of emotional depth and humor in the storyline with their performance.
