DTF St. Louis episode 6 takes all of the characters to their lowest emotional point yet because of Floyd's murder.
Episode 6 is more about the consequences side of things (and also trying to figure out who the killer might be), and right from David Harbour to Chris Perfetti, the cast carries it all.
Here’s a clear breakdown of what happens in Episode 6 and who are the cast members/characters in it.
DTF St. Louis Episode 6 Recap: Floyd’s spiral and the truth about Tiger Tiger
In Episode 6 of DTF St. Louis, Floyd is not the same upbeat guy anymore. After a "squirm" comment from Carol, he loses the one thing that defined him: his happiness.

His usual routine, the park, the singing, all of it suddenly feels empty, and you can see him trying to hold on to those things, but it’s slipping away from his grip.
Clark then thinks of a "solution", but the solution only makes things 10x worse. The fake online profile (created by Clark), Tiger Tiger, which he created to boost Floyd’s confidence, starts turning into a big mistake.
Floyd wants to meet this person for real, thinking it’s a genuine connection, and very obviously, Clark panics. He tries to stop the meeting, then tries to fake it by hiring someone else to become Tiger Tiger, and that plan? It's whack, and it backfires because the plan fails instantly when the hired guy backs out after seeing Floyd in real life.
That’s when Floyd also finds out the truth (Clark making up that fake account), and he feels betrayed because it comes from the one person he trusts the most. His confidence, already fragile, is completely gone.
In the present timeline, detectives are questioning Clark, trying to figure out why Floyd still went to the pool even after the meet was cancelled.
Floyd ends up dead there, and no one knows why he showed up or who else knew he would be there.
Episode 6 of DTF St. Louis holds back answers on purpose, keeping the murder wide open going into the finale.
DTF St. Louis Episode 6 cast and characters: Here's who brought the HBO black comedy to life
1) Floyd Smernitch played by David Harbour:
In Episode 6, Floyd's world kind of falls apart. His wife says something really mean to him, and he loses his spark. He tries to meet a friend he made online (Tiger Tiger) to feel better, but he finds out the "friend" was actually just his real-life best friend pretending to be someone else so that Floyd could build some confidence.
He ends up dead at a pool by the end of the episode, and everyone is trying to figure out how he got there and who hurt him.

David Harbour is also known for: Stranger Things & Black Widow
2) Clark played by Jason Bateman:
Clark is Floyd’s best friend, and he is the one who created the fake "Tiger Tiger" profile. He did this because he wanted to give Floyd some confidence back.
The creation of the fake profile came from a good place, but it turned into a lie he could not seem to manage and deal with properly as it got out of hand. He even tried to hire a stranger to pretend to be Tiger Tiger so that Floyd wouldn't be disappointed, but the plan crumbled down in no time.
Eventually, he has to tell Floyd the truth, and now, the police are questioning him because they think he might have something to do with the death of his best friend.

Jason Bateman is also known for: Ozark & Black Rabbit
3) Carol Love-Smernitch played by Linda Cardellini:
Carol is Floyd’s wife. In this episode, she is pretty much the reason Floyd’s mood goes downhill. She tells him that she "made him squirm," which was a really cold and disheartening thing to say to your husband, right?
The show mentions she was having an affair with Clark, so she has a lot of secrets, and people wonder if she might be the one who killed him.

Linda Cardellini is also known for: SCOOBY DOO & Freaks and Geeks
4) Clara Gilchrist played by Chastity Dotson:
Clara is one of the police officers trying to solve the mystery of what happened to Floyd. We see her sitting in an interrogation room.
She is specifically asking Clark about Floyd's death and is telling him to talk about it. She also tells him that the police believe that his wife may also be under suspicion because she may have a motive.

Chastity Dotson is also known for: Gully & Imposters
5) Detective Donoghue Homer played by Richard Jenkins:
Homer is another detective working on the case. He’s also in the interrogation room with Clark, trying to figure out what the truth might actually be. His main job is to grill Clark and try to figure out how a plan to help a friend turned into a murder scene.

Richard Jenkins is also known for: Step Brothers & The Shape of Water
6) The "Fake" Tiger Tiger played by Chris Perfetti:
Perfetti played the fake Tiger Tiger and was supposed to pretend to be Floyd's online friend to boost Floyd's confidence. Clark showed him a picture of Floyd from ten years ago, but when the guy saw what Floyd looks like now, he refused to go through with the meeting and walked away.
He is the reason Floyd caught Clark in the lie, because Floyd saw them talking together.

Chris Perfetti is also known for: Abbott Elementary & Twinless
7) Jodie Plumb played by Joy Sunday:
Jodie's main focus is on interrogating Clark in the episode, and she confronts him with new contradictions in his testimony and evidence regarding the "Tiger Tiger" profile. Jodie specifically presses Clark on why Floyd would go to the community pool for a meet-up if the "Tiger Tiger" account had supposedly called it off.

Joy Sunday is also known for: Wednesday & Shithouse.
