Elsbeth Season 4 spoilers: Teddy's upcoming wedding and dress code chaos
Elsbeth Season 4 will premiere with the episode titled Crazy in Love, as the titular attorney will investigate a case tied to a renowned marriage counselor, Serena Collyer. According to Bleeding Cool News, Nicole Scherzinger is set to guest star in the premiere episode as Serena Collyer. Apart from that, Teddy, Elsbeth's son, will be seen planning his wedding to his fiancé, Roy. Speaking to TV Insider, Preston said that Elsbeth is quite excited about Teddy's wedding.
"Elsbeth is probably the happiest mother of the grooms-to-be. She is thrilled to be starting the planning of Teddy and Roy’s wedding. I’m sure she’s going to be a little bit more involved than Teddy would want, but she can’t help it."
However, Preston also added that Teddy's wedding might bring back some familiar faces. Will Patton, who plays Mike Tascioni, Elsbeth's ex-husband and Teddy's father from The Good Wife, could be back.
Showrunner Jonathan Tolins told TV Insider that it would be quite tricky to bring the character to the show. However, he added that he would like to know the father-son dynamic. Speaking about the character, he said,
"He certainly is alive in our universe, and Will Patton’s a fabulous actor.”
Preston told TV Insider that this season, viewers can also get a glimpse of Elsbeth's mother from Peoria, Illinois. She added that viewers will get to witness how Elsbeth is as a daughter.
"Your mother showing up can throw you off your game. It’s going to be really fun to show yet another side of this character."
She also added that Elsbeth's dog Gonzo will be present at the wedding. It seems like Teddy and Roy's wedding is going to be quite chaotic. Speaking about the wedding dress code, Preston said that Elsbeth would possibly opt for sparkly and colorful dresses that might clash with Teddy's aesthetics. However, Elsbeth won't mind toning down the dress to make her son and Roy happy. Preston added that this season, Elsbeth will be seen wearing colorful sneakers.
Elsbeth Season 4 Episode 2 spoilers: Death of a Playwright
Preston told TV Insider that Elsbeth Season 4 Episode 2, titled Death of a Playwright, was quite fun to shoot, as it involves the eccentric attorney solving a case in the playwriting world. The episode involves the suspicious death of a young playwright.
As Elsbeth starts to investigate the case, she finds multiple suspects. Nicholas Braun, John Doman, Tommy Dorfman, Richard Thomas, Betsy Aidem, and Isaac Powell will guest star in the episode. It will air on October 15, 2026, at 9 PM ET on CBS.
Braun will play Jeremy Perrick, the son of a celebrated playwright. Doman is set to play Jeremy's father, Richard Perrick, while Aidem will play Sheila Perrick, a former actress and Richard's second wife. Thomas will play Lenny, Richard's friend and producer. Dorfman will portray Klea Zane, a fellow playwright, and Powell will play Nelson. NYC theatre journalist Frank DiLella will play himself. Speaking about the episode, Preston added,
"I love it when we have theater actors come on."
Preston continued:
"No one can embrace the level of scene work that our show requires better. We’re doing six-page scenes that are very dense, full of dialogue — things that you have to make sing. Theater actors do it the best.”
