Matthew Rhys has won big at the Emmys 2026! The actor won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for his portrayal of Nile Jarvis in Netflix's psychological crime thriller miniseries The Beast in Me.
While the win was sweet, the category featured impressive talent, including Riz Ahmed (Bait), Oscar Isaac (Beef), Charlie Hunnam (Monster: The Ed Gein Story), and Jason Bateman (Black Rabbit). However, Rhys emerged as the winner and took home the trophy at the Emmys 2026.
Matthew Rhys is a three-time nominee this year. He is also up for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy for Apple TV’s Widow’s Bay. If he wins, the actor would create history by picking up two lead acting wins in a single night.

The Beast in Me is a gripping and mysterious crime thriller series that follows grieving author Aggie Wiggs, struggling with her son's recent death, who begins writing a book about her new next-door neighbor, Nile, the son of a real estate magnate who allegedly killed his first wife.
In addition to Matthew Rhys and Claire Danes, the cast also includes Brittany Snow, Natalie Morales, Jonathan Banks, David Lyons and many more.
The Emmys 2026 are certainly a big night for Matthew Rhys. The actor is an eight-time Emmy nominee, including three nods and one win for his role in the FX series The Americans.
