Before Family Guy returns for Season 25, the show's fans will be given a treat for Halloween. In October 2026, Brian and Stewie will end up in hell, as revealed by the first look at the Family Guy Halloween Special.
The 2026 Halloween special of the show, titled Happy Hell-o-ween, will feature Brian and Stewie in hell and a new guest star.
Family Guy's Halloween Special features Stewie and Brian running hell
Created by Seth MacFarlane, Family Guy has featured 24 Seasons of Stewie and Brian's bad behavior causing ruckus. All that seems to have caught up with them in Happy Hell-o-ween. The 2026 Family Guy Halloween Special will be released on Hulu on October 5, 2026.
As the Halloween Special's trailer reveals, Stewie and Brian will end up in hell while they are on the way to the Block Island Ferry Halloween Masquerade Ball. We see the duo get hit by a car, following which they head to the afterlife.
While they think they are on their way to heaven, they find themselves in hell. As the Devil welcomes them to hell, Stewie and Brian are convinced that there's some confusion; they believe there's no way they could have ended up in hell. But they are indeed in hell and somehow end up running it.
While the trailer doesn't reveal exactly how, the Devil quits his job of running hell, and hands over his trident to Stewie. Before he leaves, he says:
"You guys think you can do a better job here? I quit."
Stewie and Brian are thus left to be in charge of hell. Stewie immediately makes all torture voluntary. While torture is a mandatory aspect of hell, Stewie announces that it is voluntary now. In a short funny moment, one inhabitant of hell, Lee, confirms with Stewie:
"But we can choose it if we want."
Stewie responds in an annoyed tone:
"Yes, Lee, you can choose it."
We then also get a glimpse of Peter in hell, but he isn't dead, at least not entirely. According to Peter, here's what happened:
"In real life, I'm choking on a Now and Later that I refuse to chew."
Peter then begins to evaporate, indicating he's going back to his alive self as he says:
"Looks like I got it down."
The trailer for Family Guy's Halloween Special ends with short glimpses from Brian and Stewie's adventures in the afterlife.
The voice cast of the Halloween Special includes Seth MacFarlane as Stewie, Brian, and Peter Griffin, Alex Borstein as Lois Griffin, Seth Green as Chris Griffin, Mila Kunis as Meg Griffin, Patrick Warburton as Joe Swanson, and Arif Zahir as Cleveland Brown. Succession star Kieran Culkin has joined Happy Hell-o-ween in a guest role and voices The Devil.
The Halloween Special is created by Seth MacFarlane and directed by Joe Vaux. It is developed by MacFarlane and David Zuckerman. Travis Bowe has written the special.
