Fauda Season 5 ending leaves Doron facing the fallout of Saeed's attack

Netflix has released Fauda Season 5, giving fans a little midweek excitement. Created by Avi Issacharoff and Lior Raz, the new season consists of a total of eleven episodes showing the fighters returning to action two years after October 7. The cast includes Lior Raz as Doron Kavillio, Mélanie Laurent as Anne, Doron Ben-David as Hertzel "Steve" Pinto, Hakim Djaziri as Saeed, and Yaakov Zada Daniel as Eli.

Saeed is the man Doron and his team are trying to stop this season. Saeed makes a plan to attack Israel, and at first, everyone thinks the Western Wall is his target. However, they soon realize that he is actually planning attacks on military cemeteries during Memorial Day.

Viewers also see that Anne is dealing with the loss of her husband, Maher, and she even decides to take revenge. But she decides to help Doron in the end after realizing that she doesn't want innocent people to get involved in it. Towards the end of the season, the attack does take place, but the team is able to successfully stop them.

As for what happens to Saeed, he gets killed by Doron. The season also shows Doron getting emotional in Eli's memorial after his death towards the end of the finale.

Fauda Season 5 recap: What does Saeed want?

Fauda Season 5 shows Saeed planning to carry out a big attack in Israel. He actually plans to aim at the military cemeteries during Memorial Day, as that is the time when it will be crowded with families.

While Doron and the others think that he was after the Western Wall, his plans get exposed in time. The season also shows Anne changing her decision from taking revenge to eventually helping Doron. While she first wanted to take revenge after Maher's death, after learning what happened to Hagit, Eli's partner, and her family during the October 7 attack, she helps them find Saeed through the photographs. In short, she didn't want innocent people to get hurt and decided to help Doron.

Anne helps to put the pieces together and reveals Saeed's real interest and intent behind the attack, with them realizing that it's actually cemeteries that he is after.

Fauda Season 5 ending explained: What does Doron do to stop Saeed?

In the Season 5 finale, Doron and Steve try to stop the attackers as much as possible after the shooting starts. As the attack continues, Doron follows Saeed after Saeed gets wounded, and the two come face to face with each other. Doron, while pointing a gun at Saeed, says that this is for Eli and his family on October 7 and shoots multiple bullets at him.

While Saeed dies, along with him, many other civilians also get injured, and a few die. In total, eleven terrorists get neutralized.

Fauda Season 5 ending explained: Doron's emotional goodbye to Eli

Another important death that viewers see is Eli's. He couldn't take Hagit and her family's death on October 7, which Doron mentions while killing Saeed. Towards the end of the finale episode in Season 5, they gather to remember and mourn Eli after his death through his memorial and prayer, including Kaddish, to honor him. Doron gets emotional while washing his hands, thinking about everything they have been through.
