According to TV Fanatic, the latest episode of FBI Season 9 put an end to OA's undercover work after he planted a secret listening device in Anna Vorpe's office. It turns out Anna orchestrated a massive cover-up for someone in power years ago, paving the way for her corrupt, off-the-books operations to continue unchecked.

Here is the complete recap.

FBI Season 9 Episode 3 reveals the reason behind Anna Vorpe's protection

Thanks to OA's listening device, the team learned details about Anna Vorpe's past in FBI Season 9 Episode 3. It turns out Anna covered for someone powerful years ago, and this is why she and her strike team were untouchable. While the person on the other end seemed tired of Anna's blackmail, she was adamant about using their past to get away with anything.

Now that the team had a solid lead, they started looking at old cases. The team looked into a teenage girl named Tiara Wylie, whose death was written off as an apparent su*c*de. Maggie and Isobel were suspicious because things were not adding up. Maggie contacted one of her doctor friends, who revealed that Tiara's autopsy was faked and that the only witness who saw her with her boyfriend was told to keep his mouth shut.

Isobel was sure Anna's blackmail was related to Tiara's death in FBI Season 9 Episode 3. Maggie tracked down the witness, Angus Cameron, who happened to be Tiara's friend and worked with her at a rich country club. Angus revealed that Tiara apparently died in a car crash, but she was not driving that night. It was initially believed Tiara's boyfriend was driving and crashed the car.

Isobel and Maggie connected Tiara's case to Ross Carver, the son of the Undersecretary of Defense, Ernest Carver. Ernest was not just an influential figure but also oversaw a lot of important operations and the Black Ops. Once Maggie and Isobel were sure that Ernest was protecting Anna to cover his son's involvement in the crash, they decided it was time for ADIC Green and the team to learn about OA's undercover mission.

ADIC Green was naturally furious with Isobel for orchestrating an off-the-books mission behind his back and planting an unsanctioned listening device. But surprisingly, Green agreed that Anna was a menace who needed to be stopped. Green was well aware that Anna and her strike team had even abducted and killed many citizens, which is why he agreed to help Isobel.

FBI Season 9 Episode 3 concluded OA's undercover work

Green and the team agreed that questioning Tiara's boyfriend Ross was the only way to crack the case in FBI Season 9 Episode 3. Elsewhere, Anna learned about OA's listening device and he was being held, with Anna's men torturing him by tying him to a chair.

Ross confessed he knew Tiara from high school, but the team released him because they did not have enough evidence against him. The case took a turn when Ross was killed by some of Anna's men and the death was made to look like an overdose. Maggie finally discovered that it was not Ross in the car that night but Ernest, who was shaken by his son's death. Ernest agreed to testify against Anna for full immunity and the team had a solid case against her.

In the final moments of FBI Season 9 Episode 3, the team rescued OA, who handcuffed and arrested his former boss, concluding his undercover work. OA retook his oath and was reinstated to the FBI.
