Viewers of Sheriff Country and Fire Country have been looking forward to a crossover between the two shows. From Guggenheim's statement in the interview with TV Insider, it seems like the wait for the same is coming to an end. In the interview, he said:

"We’ll get answers in 502. Mickey’s going to offer emotional support to Sharon while Hank will actually be on incident with 42, which is pretty exciting."

This means Episode 2 will hopefully bring characters, including Mickey Fox and Hank Iglesias from Sheriff Country, as they will be seen with Fire Country's Sharon Leone and joining Station 42 after the incident. He further added that Sharon and Hank work well together.

Fire Country Season 5 Episode 2 spoilers: CJ's traumatic past to be explored

In Fire Country Season 5, viewers come across CJ Ryan, played by Olivia Thirlby. She is a former firefighter, whom we know nothing about. But the mystery won't last long, as Episode 2 is expected to delve into her past and why she doesn't want to get back to her job as a firefighter. In a statement to the outlet, Guggenheim explained that CJ was brought in as an experienced firefighter who is new to Edgewater and has no ties to the town.

He pointed out that while she knows her job well, dealing with wildfires is a different challenge, and she still has things to learn. He also said that Episode 2 will reveal more about her past, adding that the season moves quickly through the statement:

"We’re not withholding much this season. This season is very propulsive."

Speaking of CJ, Olivia Thirlby also opened up about her character's traumatic past and explained why she is trying to stay away from firefighting by sharing that CJ is still dealing with some "extremely traumatic" events from her life, which have made her push away the job she once felt so passionate about.

From Thirlby's statement, it seems like CJ has been through a lot, and she is trying to move on by staying away from firefighting.

Fire Country Season 5 Episode 2 is scheduled to release on October 16.
