The initial promotional showing for the animated show Stranger Things: Tales from '85 is through the release of a poster, with a teaser expected on February 2. The poster indicates what the animation's tone will be like and has created lots of buzz among fans of Stranger Things all over the world.

The poster depicts a brightly colored representation of Hawkins, Indiana, in 1985. Even though the mood of the poster has a nostalgic feel similar to previous seasons, there is also a clear foreshadowing of evil that is going to come to Hawkins. Unlike previous seasons' promotional images, this poster provides a lot of mystery and intrigue to viewers regarding what to expect from the upcoming animated series. Because this will be the first major piece of promotional content for Stranger Things: Tales from '85, it marks a significant step in the marketing campaign for the animated series.

The news release came along with remarks from its directors and the showrunner. In a prior short teaser video, Ross Duffer previously suggested that animation allowed the creative team an opportunity to explore ideas they were not able to show in live-action. He asked the team to "go wild" and create the hope among their followers that they would produce an innovative way of creating Hawkins' world. Eric Robles (showrunner) said they are also looking for a new experience for Hawkins and using animation, as they can have a lot more fun with the material.

As many loyal fans are currently supporting the final season of Stranger Things through the completion of the show, they have all been longing for an additional link to its original predecessor. With the teaser coming soon, and the striking first look at the Stranger Things: Tales from '85 poster, the bearings of producing the brand new series have begun!

What will Stranger Things: Tales from '85 explore?

The animated television series Stranger Things: Tales from '85 is set in the year 1985, during the timeframe between seasons two and three of the original show. During the time frame described above, Hawkins, Indiana, was experiencing extended periods of cold weather. This year also brought with it many changes in the lives of the characters. The intent of Tales From '85 is to add to the gap by providing an all-new storyline about the young heroes facing a new and unidentified threat that will ultimately be determined to be an additional layer of intended suspense.

As described by Netflix's online promotional materials, the heroes will be facing entirely "new monsters and a paranormal mystery," as the dark influence of the mystery will begin to envelop the town, and they will initially believe everything to be normal and will end up finding out that nothing is as they imagined. Stranger Things: Tales from '85 will contain aspects that will be familiar to prior viewers of Stranger Things as well as act as an example of current animation.

According to Ross Duffer, this animation project was one of the first concepts that he and his brother, director/writer Matt Duffer, had when discussing future development for the Stranger Things universe. In the end, the team's goal was to create something that was both true to the original tone of the series while also giving audience members new perspectives about different parts of Hawkins that had not been depicted before.

The creators plan on creating far larger worlds than they could make with traditional methods of filming because of the physically unrestricted nature of animation, and they expect to have more unique creatures made and included in this project.

Stranger Things: Tales from '85 will have its own distinct visual style that will not be similar to the live-action series. Although there are numerous pieces of concept art out for viewing already, the amount of vivid color, thick lines, and overall look of the images give off a very strong 1980's aesthetic, according to viewer comments. The overall playful yet slightly sinister nature of the artwork matches perfectly with the tone of Stranger Things since it has been in development for so many years.
