"The friendship is deeper and more intense, the action is faster and more powerful, and the villain is stronger and more brutal."

More on this in our story.

Bloodhounds Season 2's cast and director open up about the intense latest chapter of the Netflix K-drama

Bloodhounds Season 2 premiered on April 3, 2026. The new Season picks up three years after the events of Season 1. Geon-woo is now popular and a boxing champion, but he remains humble and still helps his mother with her work. After winning yet another title in Episode 1, he gains the attention of Baek-jeong (Rain), who runs an illegal boxing league called IKFC.

After Geon-woo refuses to join the illegal league, Baek-jeong begins to threaten his mother and other loved ones until he gives in. However, Woo-jin and Geon-woo decide to fight the powerful gang with the help of several other people.

As per Soompi, director Jason Kim also revealed that the antagonist of Bloodhounds Season 2 is more brutal than Season 1. The latest chapter also showcases characters' growth and maturity. To add to his previous comments, he further shared:

"This time, the enemy is stronger than before. As the line between growth and regression collapses, everyone comes to realize that in order to fight evil, they sometimes have to accept and use their own darker side. This is not a story about being a universally loved hero, but about becoming an adult who would even kneel to protect their family."

Along with the director, the stars of Bloodhounds Season 2, Woo Do-hwan, also talked about how, in this chapter, he tried to highlight Geon-woo's "physical and mental growth".

Popular star Rain joined the Netflix action K-drama in Season 2 as Baek-jeong, the fearsome villain, who is behind everything that's wrong with Woo-jin and Geon-woo's lives due to his wanting to make the latter join his league to earn more black money through his illegal business.

Talking about his character, Rain shared:

"He’s a character who feels pleasure as others feel pain. I focused on portraying his instinctive nature."

Not just the storyline but also the fight techniques in Season 2 of the action K-drama are more impactful. Jason Kim stated:

"We focused on incorporating a wider range of boxing techniques that weren’t shown in Season 1. The action this season has a particularly strong, immediate impact."

The Netflix action K-drama also stars Choi Si-won, Park Ye-ni, Yoon Yoo-sun, and Hwang Chan-sung, among several others.

All the episodes of Bloodhounds Season 2 are now streaming on Netflix.
