''The Global phenomenon returns for its final farewell'' With these weighted words, Starz has finally unveiled the official trailer for Outlander Season 8, which is scheduled to air on March 6.

Outlander is the network's long-running time-traveling romance series, based on Diana Gabaldon's series of eponymous books, which began in 2014. The eighth season will mark the final entry in the franchise and will conclude Jamie and Claire's decades-long love story, spanning through space and time.

The Outlander Season 8 trailer hints at emotional and tragic moments for the Fraser family, who will be reunited at the iconic Fraser's Ridge settlement built by the couple in the previous seasons. From the return of your beloved characters to a bloody war that hints at tragedy for Jamie, here are all the teasers from the recently released trailer.

Now that Starz has unveiled the official emotional trailer for Outlander Season 8, fans are eagerly waiting for Jamie and Claire's final adventure, along with their beloved family at Fraser's Ridge. The clip features the return of Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire ( Caitriona Balfe), the adorable central couple from the series who have faced their fair share of hardships throughout the seven seasons of the show. The Outlander Season 7 finale saw them leave the American war behind for their settlement at Fraser's Ridge, which will potentially reunite them with their daughter & son-in-law and extended family.

Since family has always been a key theme in Gabaldon's world, the Outlander Season 8 trailer features the main returning ensemble cast, including Claire and Jamie's children, Sophie Skelton as Brianna MacKenzie, Richard Rankin as Roger MacKenzie, John Bell as Young Ian Murray and Izzy Meikle-Small as Rachel Murray. Additionally, Jamie's confidante Lord John Grey (David Berry), Jamie's son William Ransom (Charles Vandervaart) and the previously absent beloved couple César Domboy (Fergus) and Lauren Lyle (Marsali) will also return in the final season.

The Outlander Season 8 trailer teases a bloody battle and Jamie's death

The official logline for the final season reads as follows:

“A devastating prophecy, in the form of Frank Randall’s book predicting Jamie’s death, shakes the family to the core. Knowing they’ve been unable to alter history in the past, the Frasers grapple with the question of whether Jamie’s fate is sealed.''

Seasoned fans are well aware of the high stakes and dangers in Gabaldon's fantastical world and Outlander Season 8 will be no exception. In addition to these heartwarming reunions and an emotional farewell to the fans, the trailer for the final season of Outlander teased a bloody battle at King's Mountain, which will likely lead to Jamie Fraser's death.

As teased in a previous clip, Brianna brought Frank's history book to the 18th century and Jamie has been an avid reader ever since. The book turns out to be an ominous prophecy as Frank writes about an upcoming battle at King's Mountain. While the couple has tried to alter history in the past, it has never worked in their favour and this detail spells tragedy for Jamie and Claire in Outlander Season 8.

Claire requests that Jamie step down from the war but the Scottish warrior is adamant about saving his wife and family. Jamie Fraser has never backed down from a battle before and he will fight till his dying breath in the final season as well. However, since the stakes are too high, Jamie asks Claire to return to her own time should anything happen to him. With this, Outlander Season 8 has set an ominous parallel with Season 1, where Jamie and Claire were painfully separated after the war. While the couple was eventually reunited, they might not be so lucky in the final season.

Tune into the Outlander Season 8 premiere on Starz on March 6.
