From wand-wielding wizards and witches to chandelier-lit ballrooms, a surprising number of Bridgerton faces once walked the halls of Hogwarts. If anyone in the period drama series looked particularly familiar to you, it's probably because you've already seen them in the Harry Potter films.

Here are five stars of Bridgerton who previously had roles in the fantasy films that defined a generation.

Rege-Jean Page had a small role in Harry Potter, in the seventh film in the franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. He appeared as a wedding guest during Fleur Delacour and Bill Weaskey's wedding.

On Bridgerton, he plays Simon Basset, the 2nd Duke of Hastings who goes on to get married to Daphne Bridgerton.

Katie Leung

Katie Leung popularly played Cho Chang in the Harry Potter films, and served as Cedric Diggory's girlfriend in the fourth film, who Harry had a crush on, and later became his girlfriend. However, she rats out her friends in the fifth film, leading to their fallout.

On Bridgerton, Leung plays Lady Araminta aka Lady Penwood, the stepmother of Sophie Baek who treats her badly. In a way, she's the antagonist this season.

On Bridgerton, Stroma plays a royal suitor who seeks Daphne Bridgerton's hand in marriage, unsuccessfully. Although it's a small role, you may remember him in Gryffindoe robes.

The actor played the role of Cormac MacLaggen, a young Gryffindor boy who was interested in Hermione Granger and also tried out for the Quidditch team.

Michelle Fairley

Michelle Fairley is best known to Harry Potter fans for playing Mrs Granger, Hermione’s mother, in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1. Though her screen time was brief, the role remains a memorable one for longtime viewers of the wizarding world particularly because of the scene where Hermione removes her memories.

Fairley later gained global recognition for her commanding performance in Game of Thrones, where she portrayed the fiercely loyal Catelyn Stark. On Bridgerton, she did not appear on the show, but did so in the spinoff Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, where she played Princess Augusta, a pivotal figure whose presence shapes the royal politics and emotional stakes of the prequel exploring Queen Charlotte and King George III’s love story.

Guy Henry

On Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, Guy Henry plays the role of a doctor to the king who treats him. Although it's not a very major role, his role on Harry Potter was more significant as he played Pius Thicknesse.

Pius Thicknesse is a senior Ministry of Magic official who becomes Minister under Voldemort’s control while cursed by the Imperius Curse. Though not a true Death Eater, he enforces the regime’s cruelty and fights at Hogwarts, replacing Rufus Scrimgeour as the leader of the magical world.

However, he later faces a tragic end as he is killed during the Battle of Hogwarts.

Bridgerton is available to stream on Netflix. The Harry Potter films are available to stream on HBO Max.
