The Apple TV show is an adaptation of the original novel by John D. MacDonald, walking in the footsteps of its earlier film adaptations from 1962 and 1991.The story revolves around an ex-convict (portrayed by Bardem) whose release from prison after almost two decades brings trouble to the lives of the lawyer couple who had represented him. The star particularly mentioned in a statement to Kerrang the names of the songs that influenced his journey.One of them is Given Up from the album Minutes to Midnight, where Linkin Park first experimented with their sound and brought in an absolutely new genre blend. The piece is well-known for late Chester Bennington's 17-second-long scream that will totally blow your mind (if you haven't heard the song yet).The other one that Bardem mentioned is Up From the Bottom from Linkin Park's latest album, From Zero (which is also their return album after Chester's death), featuring new vocalist Emily Armstrong.
