However, it cannot be denied that even though Star Wars boasts a huge fandom, it is divided into multiple generations, each having their own preferences. In a recent D23 panel for Worldbuilders, Dave Filoni unveiled his plans to unite the generations of fans of the franchise.

While speaking at the panel, co-president of Star Wars, Dave Filoni, pointed out the “several different generations” of fans of the franchise. He noted that there are some fans who enjoy the original trilogy, while some are more inclined towards the prequel and sequel trilogies.
There are many fans of the “Clone Wars” and the “expanded universe” as well. As these fans are of different generations and also have “different interests”. Hence, for the future of the franchise, Dave Filoni is eager to “bring them all together”. He also adds that he is “always” looking at ways that are “going to serve all these different interests” of the fandom.

As the fans have the “common love” towards the Star Wars franchise, it is significant to bring the fans of different generations together. Though Dave Filoni has plans to unite the different generations of the fans together, it cannot be denied that the path to this is not going to be an easy one. It will be intriguing to see how Filoni manages to bring the generations of fans together in the upcoming projects of the franchise.
Several projects are already lined up for the franchise. For the franchise’s 2027 slate, Ashoka Season 2 has been confirmed. The first season of the series had an immense positive response from the viewers, who have now been eagerly waiting for the upcoming storylines.
The second season is set to release on January 20. Star Wars: Starfighter, which has the very talented Ryan Goslin taking on the lead role, is set to release on May 28 next year. The second season of Star Wars: Maul—Shadow Lord is also set to release next year. Bringing in the fresh perspective of animation, the storyline of this series is fast-paced and intriguing.

The series dives into the story of Maul and his journey to bring back the criminal world. Though there is no official release date for the second season of this series, Matt Michnovetz, the head writer and executive producer for the series, revealed that the second season will drop next year.
It must also be noted that the franchise will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year, which makes the year even more crucial for the fans. To celebrate this milestone of the franchise, the viewers will be able to experience the original 1977 movie once again at the theaters.
The movie will be shown at the theaters from February 19, 2027, for a limited period of time as a celebration of the anniversary. It will be a restored version. The movie became a propelling factor in making the franchise reach a wider audience. It also led to the creation of multiple spin-offs.
