Popular British police procedural Line of Duty was renewed for Season 7 in 2025, almost four years after Season 6 premiered. The fan-favorite series will bring back beloved actors Martin Compston, Vicky McClure, and Adrian Dunbar in their respective roles, among several others joining.

However, there has not been any news about any other characters from previous seasons joining Season 7. Recently, actress Shalom Brune-Franklin, who played DC Chloe Bishop, was asked by Radio Times whether she would return in Line of Duty Season 7. The actress subtly dodged the question and stated she did not know. She said:

"I don’t know… I know nothing. I'm gonna plead the fifth, even though we're not in America. I'm gonna plead the fifth anyway."

More on this in our story.

Line of Duty star Shalom Brune-Franklin talks about her return in Season 7

Shalom Brune-Franklin joined Line of Duty in Season 6 as DC Chloe Bishop and was part of the AC-12. She played a crucial role throughout the Season and helped the trio find out the identity of the fourth member, known as "H," who was linked to various corrupt activities within the police force.

When she joined the AC-12, fans speculated that Shalom's character might be on the wrong side and linked to H. However, it was DC Bishop who went through all the old cases and helped in figuring out how DSU Ian Buckells was linked to all of it. She discovered that Buckells wrote 'definitely' as 'definately,' which matched with the notes shared with OCGs, the organized crime groups that enabled the corruption and other criminal activities, and DCI Joanne Davidson.

However, even after becoming a fan-favorite character, it has not yet been revealed if DC Chloe Bishop will return to AC-12 in Season 7. While in the Radio Times interview, the actress did not reveal if she would return as DC Bishop; she talked about her time in the show and revealed that she was already a fan of the Jed Mercurio-created series, and stated:

"I was a huge fan of the show before signing on, so it was the most surreal experience I've ever had on a job because it really did feel like I was stepping into the TV. I kind of had to stop the fan-girling when I got to set, 'cause I was like, this is a bit unprofessional to still be freaking out in the glass box. Get over it. But also we filmed during COVID as well, so it was just a very special time, but different, odd time."

Other than Shalom Brune-Franklin, the OG trio are confirmed to return in Season 7 of Line of Duty, including an iconic actor, Robert Carlyle, known for The Full Monty and Trainspotting, who is set to appear as Shaun Massie in the upcoming chapter of the series.
