HBO and BBC One's latest British drama, Half Man, starring Jamie Bell and Richard Gadd, follows the lives of two estranged 'brothers', Niall and Ruben. Things take an ugly turn when Ruben shows up at Niall's wedding, and tensions boil over. The incident pulls viewers to their shared past and reveals how even the strongest bonds can fall apart.
Half Man Episode 6 is directed by Eshref Reybrouck. The finale episode picks up four years after the intense penultimate episode. Ruben is in prison for attacking Benji, while Mona has given birth. Even though Ruben believes that the boy is his son, Niall knows the truth that he is the biological father. The synopsis, as per BBC One, reads:
"Niall has built a new life, but old ties resurface when Mona reconnects with Ruben. Events spiral towards an intense and devastating conclusion."

Niall is released from prison to attend his mother's funeral. During this time, he overhears a conversation between Ruben and Mona. However, he seems unable to understand the context of what they're discussing.
Later, Ruben visits Niall in prison. During their conversation, Niall opens up to Ruben and reveals that he is gay. Ruben bursts into laughter, and he tells Niall that he is glad he finally admits it. Turns out, Ruben had already suspected it.
Niall then confronts him about Ruben's abusive remarks. When Ruben tries to justify his behaviour, Niall explains that the abuses leave scars. The discussion develops into a small disagreement

In Episode 6, after Niall comes out, Ruben shares about his traumatic past. Ruben reveals his father's abusive behaviour. It was this trauma that made Ruben competitive, and there's a constant urge to prove himself. Niall carefully listens to him. He motivates him and tells him that surviving this makes him stronger.

During the prison conversation, viewers finally learn why Ruben attacks Niall on his wedding day. Turns out, after they open up to each other, the two go for a run and continue discussing their dark secrets. They laugh together, and they appear to reconnect for the first time after a long while.
The mood changes when Niall finally decides to drop another truth bomb. Niall reveals that he was physically involved with Mona while Ruben was away and that her son Ben was not Ruben's but his.
Ruben is left heartbroken after he learns the shocking truth about Mona and Niall. Out of rage, Ruben attacks Niall during his wedding day to seek revenge for ruining his relationship.

Ruben takes Niall to the barn and locks him up. He gets quite violent with Niall and pins him to the ground. Niall tries to fight back with a knife hidden in his sick, but Ruben overpowers him. Ruben kills Niall violently. After Ruben kills him, he sits by Niall's body and grunts. The screen turns black, and the credits roll in.
