The recent release of the official trailer of HBO’s new legal drama War revealed the clash of two prestigious London-based law firms named Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne during a scandalous divorce proceeding between a wealthy tech entrepreneur and his famous film star wife. The second season reveals that both law firms take on an explosive defamation lawsuit.

HBO's legal drama War unveils high-profile divorce cases
War is an intense legal drama series about the story of London's most influential law firms, Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne, competing with each other over a famous court case. Ambitious young lawyer Jonathan Warren is pulled into this cutthroat world where ambition drives every move, betrayal is part of the game, and winning comes first.
Season 1 is based on the bitter divorce between British tech entrepreneur Morgan Henderson and international film star Carla Duval. The two firms go to extreme lengths to come out on top while fighting to secure the best possible outcome for their clients. Season 2 will focus on a high-profile defamation case and is set to begin production soon.
The trailer reveals the separation of Morgan and Carla, and their divorce quickly becomes hostile with accusations involving honey-trapping, betrayal, and lies. The conflict soon grows beyond the courtroom and becomes a public relations battle with both sides using tabloids and the media to shape public opinion. Morgan says that he only wants a decent divorce, while Carla clarifies that she intends to take him for every penny he has and make him suffer.
As the trial develops, the lawyers show that winning matters more than taking the moral high ground with one of them openly stating that lawyers don't need moral high ground to win.
