Heated Rivalry recently announced its new cast for Season 2, and one of them is facing backlash for his social media activity. Edvin Ryding has been cast as Luca Haas for Season 2 of the show, and fans aren't happy with him because he has allegedly liked some racist posts.

One's social media activity tells a lot about them, and it looks like Heated Rivalry fans have decided their opinion about Ryding upon this new revelation.

Heated Rivalry's Season 2's star Edvin Ryding's social media activity might cost him a lot

Edvin Ryding is known for his own body of work, which includes Young Royals, 28 Years Later, and The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, among other projects. However, he has received heightened attention since he was cast for Heated Rivalry Season 2.

Ryding is playing Luca Haas in Heated Rivalry Season 2, who is a talented and soft-spoken rookie hockey player for the Ottawa Centaurs in the Game Changers series by Rachel Reid. Fans have been excited to see who would ultimately play the character, but they aren't too happy with this casting choice.

Multiple reports are surfacing online that show screenshots of Heated Rivarly star Edvin Ryding's alleged likes on racist memes. The posts range from being racist towards immigrants to Hispanics to Black people. It is yet to be known if or why the actor really aligns himself with such problematic views, but if he does, the fans would be rightful in disliking him.

It is not right to be racist irrespective of whether one is passing a racist comment directly or liking racist posts. Fans of Heated Rivalry are standing their ground and holding Ryding responsible. Some of the actor's supporters are claiming these new allegations to be false and pointed out that Ryding couldn't be racist since he has been vocal about the suffering of the people of Gaza.

It is true that Ryding made a post about Gaza and the situation in Palestine in 2025. That was indeed a good step on his part, but it is yet to be seen if posts like that would be enough for people to believe he isn't racist. Ryding's supporters are also pointing out that he had liked a post of Kamala Harris from her campaigning days with Joe Biden and Greta Thunberg's post criticizing President Donald Trump. The supporters are pointing out these instances to prove that Ryding couldn't be racist if he were anti-Trump and pro-Palestine.

It is yet to be known whether Heated Rivarly's Edvin Ryding did like the racist posts or if they have been fabricated. Ryding is yet to release a public statement admitting or denying these claims. If there is prolonged silence from the actor, it might lead to fans not wanting to watch Heated Rivarly Season 2 or putting pressure on the show to either recast him or address the allegations publicly.

Given the success Heated Rivarly has received for its first season, the show will most likely not risk its future due to one cast member. Hence, we might see a statement from the show soon if not from the actor.
