High Potential Season 2 Episode 10 recap: Morgan faces uncertainty at work

High Potential Season 2 on ABC is back with more nail-biting and intriguing storylines as Morgan (played by Kaitlin Olson) gets ready to use her unique investigative skills as the LAPD consultant. Season 2 Episode 10 titled ‘Grounded’ finds the Major Crimes investigation team looking into a case involving the murder of a sky diving instructor. The team uncovers a series of shocking secrets that leads them to uncharted territory. Meanwhile, Morgan’s position at work could be under threat.

A skydiving instructor is murdered midair in High Potential Season 2 Episode 10

High Potential Season 2 Episode 10 starts with the murder of Alonso Padilla, an Air Force therapist who also gave skydiving classes. He gets killed midair as he was giving lessons. During the investigation, they find a threatening note in the captain’s jumpsuit, despite having had a likable personality. Detective Karadec and Morgan realize that the note is much older. They also learn that he died of lack of oxygen.

Morgan is meanwhile forced to take detective training classes to ensure that she follows protocols after she tries to rush the case, which adds a heavy bill. Karadec will tell her that he had helped with the course. Despite not being part of the investigation, she does make some important observations that helps with the case, starting with her doubts about Padilla’s student Ethan.

In the High Potential Season 2 Episode 10, Wagner is not happy with Selena as she had not informed him about Morgan's status. And Selena is disappointed about Wagner trying to take on the case.

Karadec will decide to question Ethan, an aerospace engineer, who reportedly had a disagreement with Padilla about his brother Silas, a test pilot. Silas was Padilla’s patient who was suffering from PTSD and died recently in a car accident. When Karadec and team discover a secret board with details about test pilots, they realize something else is going on.

Even though Morgan is not supposed to be on the case, as she is busy with the classes, they seek her support. She will secretly work with the team and brings up the point that their symptoms are PTSD like, but there was something else.

The investigation leads the team to uncover the truth about the murder in High Potential Season 2 Episode 10

The investigation team in High Potential Season 2 Episode 10 learn that there was a problem with the plane. Ethan’s company, Flagstone Defence Systems, was involved in solving the concerns with the prototype. Padilla had raised the issue with Ethan about the lack of oxygen in the cockpit, which led to pilots getting hypoxia. Ethan was too afraid to share about this. However, there are still test pilots who are flying the plane and could be in danger.

Pike, who was the plane’s lead engineer, is ultimately responsible for it, but the team could not act on it until they get Padilla’s flash drive. Morgan is able to get her hands on the files, which she does secretly between her class. Padilla was killed by Pike, who had replaced his mask with a defective one.

Morgan’s job is in trouble in High Potential Season 2 Episode 10

At the detective training academy, Sergent Dottie Reynolds who takes the class is impressed with Morgan. Though Morgan’s fast thinking helps with the progress of the case, her rule-breaking was what made Solomon send her to the detective training academy in the first place. When she is caught on the phone, Dottie reports her to Solomon. She would later tell Solomon that Morgan’s instincts are sharp.

Solomon lets Morgan go. Morgan manages to close the case before her paperwork for termination is made official. They discover that Pike had broken into the skydiving facility the night before the captain was killed to alter Padilla’s mask.

Meanwhile, Arthur is still on the run and wants to find the truth about Roman from the man who has been looking for him. He gets in touch with Selena to know about Morgan.

Back at the office, Wagner is at loggerheads with Selena as she makes her displeasure evident towards him for overstepping in the case.

Karadec and team are unable to do anything about Morgan’s job status. But Selena was not going to let it go. Selena will use Wagner’s own idea of rule breaking to push for Morgan’s job. She will threaten to expose Solomon’s affair if he does not reinstate Morgan. Solomon is left with no choice but to give Morgan her job back. Morgan is overjoyed about the news, unaware of what Selena did for her.
