A case with past connection shifts the dynamic between Morgan and Wagner in High Potential Season 2 Episode 17

Episode 17 of High Potential Season 2 starts with a case of robbery. However, this robbery is far from being simple, as it involves details from Wagner’s past. As the robbers break into the vault to steal, Morgan’s children prepare for Mother’s Day. Lucia and Karadec also share a heartwarming moment.

From the beginning of this episode, there is an array of intense moments that perfectly set the tone for this episode of High Potential Season 2. This episode continues with Wagner running across the beach for his morning workout. Right at that moment, he gets a text informing him about the robbery, which instantly shifts his mood, causing him to rush to the location right away.

Morgan and Karadec reach the location of the crime and find that Wagner is already there. Wagner informs Karadec and Morgan that the robbery was done by a professional, as they were able to wipe out the camera footage. The name of the building is Canyon Gate Private Vaults, where the deposit boxes are much bigger and hold many crucial elements.

Despite having extremely high-tech security for the facility, the robbers were able to bypass it all. As the three of them head inside the building, Wagner informs Karadec and Morgan about the guard, who is an ex-SEAL who has been missing.

This episode of High Potential Season 2 continues with Karadec and Wagner discussing the case that stops them. She heard Dean, the security personnel, who was locked inside a vault. Dean is not able to tell them any helpful details about the robbers, other than that there were four of them.

Morgan then notices a room that has been cleared by the robbers and finds a box. Before she is able to open the box, the owner of the facility arrives and stops her. Inside the box, Morgan finds a hard drive. The vault is also equipped with a room temperature control system. The investigation for the case continues with Wagner bringing in the information about the clients of the vault containing the hard drive. The vault was rented by Alpheus Hodges, the first mayor of LA.

Morgan then understands that the thieves were inside the vault for a long time, even though they only stole a bottle of wine. Morgan thinks that the robbers were inside the vault, making a copy of the hard drive. From the prints on the hard drive, Mitchell Huston’s fingerprint matched. Wagner and Karadec decide to visit Mitchell Huston; however, Wagner is not able to escape Morgan’s observant eyes.

She understands that Wagner is getting quite worked up over a robbery case. This episode of High Potential Season 2 continues with Karadec and Wagner reaching Mitchell’s house, only to find him dead. Mitchell worked at city hall and became a city clerk. Morgan is not able to understand why Mitchell would rent a private vault in LA, raising suspicions for the case.

This episode of High Potential Season 2 continues with Karadec getting the information that the vault was being paid for by the City of Los Angeles. Wagner then tells others that he will be able to get more details on this issue, as he knows plenty of people there. Wagner finds out about the people who were recently fired from City Hall.

On the other hand, Lyle is working to unveil the details of the hard drive while Morgan goes inside Wagner’s office to look into the details about Wagner’s intrigue. She finds that Wagner has seen this crew before in Oakland, where Taylor died because of them. Wagner got close to catching them but was not able to. Taylor, Wagner’s fiancée, died in this chaos.

This is the reason Wagner got so worked up about the case of robbery. Wagner also tells Morgan that she should not speak about this to others so that they can help him with the case. Right at that moment, Mayor Cal arrives at the station. Instead of helping with the password of the hard drive, Cal asks his subordinates to take the hard drive away. Wagner and Morgan arrive asking about the situation.

Wagner, however, is not intimidated by Cal and urges him to let him and Morgan get a look at the contents of the drive. They find that the hard drive is the city’s last resort brain. If the city went dark tomorrow, this drive would help them to back up. This indicates that if the contents of the hard drive are misused, it could lead to immense chaos. As the contents of the drive have been copied by the robbers, the danger keeps on rising with each passing moment.

This episode of High Potential Season 2 continues with Morgan understanding that someone from City Hall must be with the robbers, helping them to crack the code of the hard drive. She understands that it is Colton Palmisano, who was recently fired. Morgan, Karadec, and Wagner visit Colton’s house, where they find that Colton was in on the whole case, as he wanted to “force change."

Morgan understands that Colton must have an insurance policy that will prevent him from getting into prison, and she is right. Colton tells them that he put a digital tracker on the burner phone that the robbers used. This episode of High Potential Season 2 continues with the police reaching the location of the robbers. However, things take a turn when a police officer steps on a bomb, which blasts instantly. The robbers are able to get away right in front of Wagner’s eyes.

Morgan reaches the location to find that Wagner and Karadec are safe. Things take a turn as Morgan finds Wagner completely drunk at the blast location. She takes him home, where Wagner tries to kiss Morgan. However, Morgan leaves and tells Wagner to rest. It can be understood that Morgan and Wagner’s dynamic is shifting. At her house, Morgan worries about the case, thinking about the details that she might have missed.

She understands that the robbers were trying to access something, but not by using the streets. They were going to use the interconnecting tunnels so that by the time the police found out, they would have already escaped. Right at that moment, there was a breach at the Port of LA, along with a LADWP blackout threat. The reservoir alarm has also been tripped, which has already started to cause panic.

However, Wagner arrives and states that he has ordered them to be removed from the case. Wagner refused to follow the orders and told his team to continue with the case. Morgan understands that the robbers are after cash flow, as it is Mother’s Day. They are targeting the collection site of the cash. At the end of this episode of High Potential Season 2, with Morgan’s sharp skills, Wagner, Morgan, and the team reach the location.

By the time they reached the location, the robbers were prepared. An intense shootout starts between them. They are finally able to catch the robbers, while Morgan is saved by Wagner. At the end of this episode of High Potential Season 2, after the team is able to successfully catch the robbers, Wagner and Morgan share an intense kiss on the elevator, completely shifting the dynamic between the two of them.
