His & Hers opens like the kind of mystery you start “just one episode” of, and suddenly it is 3 a.m. The Netflix thriller is set in a small town where secrets are as old as friendships are messy. Everyone has a past they would rather keep buried. Anna Andrews is a journalist who returns to the town from which she disappeared. Jack Harper is her estranged husband who works as a detective. A murder in the woods brings them both together, and that's when it all begins. The strongest suit of His & Hers is its play on perspective and trust. It wants you to doubt everyone. Anna has trauma she has never processed. She speaks in a way that would make you wonder if she's the killer. Jack hides things and withholds information. His behavior would make you think he's the real killer. But underneath all that mystery is a show that's actually about memory and guilt. It's about how the past makes the present. Even though people pretend it does not.Catherine Kelly is Anna's school friend. They are a group of five friends - Rachel, Helen, Zoe, Anna, and Catherine. However, Anna's 16th birthday changes everything for them. His & Hers paints Catherine as the forgotten girl from school days. His & Hers: What really happened with Catherine Kelly? View this post on Instagram Instagram PostIn His & Hers, Catherine Kelly is first introduced as just one of the girls at Anna's school. She gets bullied by Rachel for being an outcast. However, later on, we see that she becomes part of the popular circle led by Rachel and her friends. Anna is kind towards her, and she is the one who asks Catherine to become friends with them. She is also the one who invites Catherine Kelly to join them for her 16th birthday in the woods.Lexy Jones is a reporter at Anna's workplace. When Anna leaves the town after her daughter's death, Lexy replaces her. She becomes the anchor of the evening news. On Anna's return, we can see that neither of the women really gels well. Anna wants her position back. But Lexy is competitive and will do anything to keep hers.It is not until the end of the show that the audience learns that Catherine Kelly and Lexy Jones are the same person. Catherine undergoes physical changes. She changes her name to exact her revenge on the girls who apparently ruined her life. At least, that's what we are led to believe. That also includes Anna because, in her mind, it was Anna who asked her to join them in the woods. So whatever happened to her back then on that unfortunate day is Anna's fault too.Not only are her friends, but Catherine is also the reason her sister dies. She empties her inhaler before a boat trip and watches her sister die out of breath. The show has several red herrings. So, it is hard to imagine that the killer could be Catherine or Lexy. But come to think of it, she has motive and history. His & Hers shows Catherine as someone who has carried revenge for years alone. The turning point comes when the investigation finally reaches Lexy's doorstep. In the tense confrontation at the lake house, the characters and the audience reach the same conclusion. Catherine, now known as Lexy, is the killer. Priya is another detective in the investigation. She shoots Catherine in an attempt to save Jack and Anna. His & Hers serves justice. The villain is dead. End of the story. But is it really? The show changes everything with its final reveal. His & Hers makes it clear that Catherine was not the murderer after all. The real killer is Anna’s mother, Alice. She committed the murders and planted evidence to frame Catherine. In the end, Catherine Kelly is a scapegoat and a tragedy in His & Hers.Stay tuned to Soap Central for more updates and detailed coverage.
