House of the Dragon's Fabien Frankel shares about filming the final Criston Cole scene
Season 3 Episode 6 of House of the Dragon was released a few days back on HBO, and today, the show's star, Fabien Frankel, opens up about how the production has carried out the filming process for the final scene.
In The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy starts the show by saying that Fabien's character was killed off, and he is really sorry about that. By hearing this, the audience starts groaning, Fabien smiles, and he is about to get up from his chair, indicating that he is about to leave the show right now. But Jimmy stops him and asks to share that moment when he realized that he had to die.
According to Fabien, the showrunner decided that Criston Cole would die with some arrows. The star opens up that performing the arrow scene required him to move his body in a very specific way. He explains,
"I had to take like one to the chest, one to the stomach, one to the face."
The actor admits that he struggled to find the right rhythm, which made his movements look unnatural. He describes how the first arrow hit led to awkward reactions, and the whole sequence turned into something that resembled a Mick Jagger impression.
Fabian further adds that his movements looked more like dancing than acting, and at one point he even felt like he was doing a poor Elvis routine on a bad day. His legs kept moving uncontrollably, and he could not stop himself.
The star remembers the director stepping in and telling him to calm down. He shares that Rowling firmly asked him to stop exaggerating his body movements because it was too much for the scene.
What happened to Criston Cole in House of the Dragon's Faceless Men?
In House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 6, Criston and his men were caught in a carefully planned trap carried out by Team Black’s Rivermen and Winter Wolves. The plan was commanded by young Lord Oscar Tully and Lord Roderick Dustin.
Surrounded and hopelessly outnumbered, Criston tried to negotiate for his men’s survival. He proposed a two‑on‑one duel against Oscar Tully and Roderick Dustin with a hope of getting an honorable exit.
Team Black refused to grant him that chance. Instead, Alysanne Blackwood ended the matter swiftly and fired three arrows into Criston. She finished him with a shot to the face. Soon after, Criston's death arrived without ceremony or glory.
