Rhaenyra finally found out that it was Rhaena on Sheepstealer when the wild dragon unexpectedly arrived at the Gullet. Rhaenyra is not only angry at Rhaena for being indirectly responsible for Jace's death and staying hidden all this time, but she is also angry at Daemon for keeping the truth from her. It is yet to be seen what punishment befalls Rhaena now. Rhaenyra is now more cautious of Daemon, and one can tell that her trust in him is going to falter. Regardless, Daemon, the Winter Wolves, and the Rivermen are going to march on to Tumbleton to defeat the Greens' hold over the city by Ormund Hightower. While Ulf has already switched sides to that of the Greens, the House of the Dragon Season 3 finale preview has teased that Hugh will do that as well.In Fire & Blood, both Ulf and Hugh betray Rhaenyra at Tumbleton. In the show we see Ulf betraying Rhaenyra because she no longer permitted him to live his life as he used to, asking him to keep his merrymaking to the castle walls instead. We don't yet know for sure why Hugh would betray her. In the show, Hugh is a more serious and mature man than Ulf, but he will meet his limit as well. After getting knighted, Hugh went to fetch his wife, Kat, from Tumbleton, but she refused to go back with him. She felt abandoned when he left her to become a dragonrider and ultimately chose to stay back with her family. In the House of the Dragon Season 3 finale, we will most likely see Kat become a collateral damage of the first battle of Tumbleton and get killed by someone on the Blacks' side. This might push Hugh over the edge and turn him against Rhaenyra. On the other hand, Ormund might not survive the battle. In the book, the Greens won the first battle of Tumbleton, but we might see Ormund die given how inexperienced he is in combat and his sensitivity to blood and gore. We will most likely see him die at the sight of the violence before we actually see him pick up a sword. In episode 7, we saw Aegon and Tyland get cornered by Lord Mooton's advancing soldiers. When Aegon announced his true identity and welcomed death rather than fleeing, the Mooton's soldiers began to retreat. While it initially seemed that they were reluctant to harm a Targaryen prince who was crowned king, they were actually trying to get away from Sunfyre, who had just arrived. View this post on Instagram Instagram PostWhen Aegon realized that his dragon was back, he simply said,"Dracarys"and laughed as Sunfyre burnt Lord Mooton's men to ashes. Aegon, reunited with his dragon, now considers himself a formidable foe to his brother Aemond and Rhaenyra. He is not going to go down without a fight, and as the House of the Dragon Season 3 finale preview revealed, when she gets news of his return, Rhaenyra will have a bigger problem at hand than Tumbleton or Rhaena. House of the Dragon Season 3 finale will be released on HBO and HBO Max on August 9, 2026. For more articles like this, follow Soapcentral.
