The Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 trailer dropped this Tuesday, and we saw Elden Henson's Foggy Nelson at one moment. This surprised some fans because they saw Foggy die in the opening minutes of the Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 premiere. However, the internet is filled with countless theories regarding Foggy's death in the Season 1 premiere.
Moreover, Henson's return in Season 2 was confirmed a year ago as Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 was releasing its episodes weekly last year. Therefore, it was given that Foggy was scheduled to appear at some point in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. But the context of his appearance in the upcoming season is unclear.
What do we know about Foggy's role in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2?
His role has been kept under wraps. Ever since the Season 1 premiere last year, theories have circulated on the internet regarding Foggy's death. They believe that the writers of the series are adapting the storyline from the comics, where Foggy faked his death and entered witness protection. But this theory has not been confirmed yet.
Another theory suggests that Foggy will be a manifestation of Matt's subconscious. There is precedence for this, as "Battlin" Jack Murdock appears as a manifestation of an adult Matt's subconscious in a Daredevil Season 3 episode. But we will learn more about Foggy's role in the upcoming season only once the season begins to stream on Disney+ this March.
What do we know about Born Again Season 2?
The Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 trailer confirms that it will pick up right where the first season ended. Wilson Fisk has tightened his grip over NYC as Matt has formed a small army to resist and bring down the Kingpin's oppressive mayoral regime. The trailer begins on a rather cheerful note as the AVTF (Anti-Vigilante Task Force) officers interact with New Yorkers.
However, soon it is revealed that this is a propaganda ad and not true. Meanwhile, Matt and Karen are much happier in hiding. Slowly, the action ramps up as we see the AVTF fight Daredevil. As that happens, we see several scenes across the entire season, including Jessica Jones and Matt Murdock teaming up for the first time since The Defenders.
The Jessica Jones moment has fans excited because they hope for the return of Luke Cage and Iron Fist/Danny Rand as well. But the Iron Fist and Luke Cage's return has not been confirmed by Marvel yet. We need to wait for official confirmation or watch Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 as it streams in almost a month.
"In Season 2, Mayor Wilson Fisk crushes New York City underfoot as he hunts down public enemy number one, the Hell’s Kitchen vigilante known as Daredevil. But beneath the horned mask, Matt Murdock will try to fight back from the shadows to tear down the Kingpin’s corrupt empire and redeem his home. Resist. Rebel. Rebuild."
The slogan of "Resist. Rebel. Rebuild." is interesting because these words come from Matt's monologue in the Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 finale:
"This is our city, not his. And we can take it back, together. The weak, the strong, all of us… Resist. Rebel. Rebuild. Because we are the city. Without fear."
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will begin streaming on Disney+ from March 24, 2026.
