The recently released episode of The Beauty, titled 'Beautiful Living Rooms,' sheds light on the tragic backstory of The Assassin, the unnamed henchman working for Byron Forst, the tech billionaire of the corporation, who is connected with the manufacture of the titular dr*g. The Assassin is a 65-year-old man who took the dr*g in its early stages, which granted him a 30-year-old-looking body.

The shadowy figure of the unnamed henchman remains one of the most mysterious characters in The Beauty, perfectly brought to life by A Star Is Born actor Anthony Ramos.

Episode 7 finally revealed the snippets from the Assassin's past and how he crossed paths with Byron and the titular dr*g.

More on this in our story.

All about the Assassin's tragic past in The Beauty Episode 7

The Beauty Episode 7 took an emotional detour and revealed the details about the Assassin's tragic past, who was once a respected soldier in the army named Antonio. While Antonio was the army's finest soldier, he was eventually fired after a messed-up psychological evaluation. This had a huge toll on Antonio and his life took a devastating turn. Left with no income and purpose to live, he was forced to make money via illegal means, which set him on a downward path.

The larger theme in The Beauty alludes to an individual's personal choice. The show hints that the Assassin wanted a clean start in life and he fell in love and started a family. He seemed to be getting out of his dark phase in life when he was hired as a top-rung billionaire’s personal bodyguard. His wife and son were thriving and he had finally turned his life for the better, until a mysterious attack from the Furies changed his life forever.

On a fateful day, Antonio's boss was attacked by a group of bio-terrorists who target billionaires regularly. However, Antonio ended up being on the receiving end of their acid attack, which left him with an 80% damaged and burnt body and a lifetime of pain and disability, which also claimed his job.

Antonio was again standing at a crossroads in his life when he met Byron and was introduced to his life-changing dr*g, the Beauty. When Byron revealed the magical effects of the dr*g, Antonio sold his soul to the devil and chose physical transformation in return for his family's safety.

As Antonio continues to look at his wife and son from afar, he becomes an invisible assassin for the corporation in return for the new body that they granted him. Since the Beauty was still in its early stages when it was administered to Antonio, he was left with a permanently scarred eye.

What does The Assassin's new identity mean in The Beauty Episode 7?

The Assassin's past identity and backstory neatly tie up with the larger theme in The Beauty. After opening up to Jeremy, Antonio expresses regret for the barter, which granted him a new and younger-looking physical form but snatched his past identity and family forever. As Jeremy ponders over his own decision of taking the dr*g, Antonio reminds him that their new bodies and identities are superficial and meant to be a mere cog in the Corporation's large wheel.

Antonio's theory soon comes into effect as Byron orders his henchmen to attack Cooper and Jordan, who were planning on stealing important intel by breaking into the NIH. However, before Cooper and Jordan could make progress, they were ambushed by Antonio and Jeremy, who chained and locked them away in a truck, which drove off to an unknown location.

The Assassin's new identity proves that the Beauty's promise of a physically attractive body is hollow, as it snatches an individual's past (and happy) life. This barter of souls works because Byron thrives on people's vulnerabilities, as he did with Antonio and Meyer.
